“We selected Courtyard because of its easy access to the Riverwalk and to the People Mover. It's also just a couple of easy walking blocks to Greektown, Campus Martius and the Convention Center. Our room was oversized and quite comfortable. Every staff member we encountered, from valet to maintenance, was very professional and welcoming. We felt taken care of. We used the in-room coffee maker, but IHOP in the lobby offers lattes and more; plus the 24-hr snack area offers an automated Starbucks……

“The A/C was broken, did not function at all; the shower door has high pitch squeaking sound every time i closed it. Everything else is good.”

Downtown Detroit location had multiple people loitering outside entry doors at all hours. Not recommended to walk around at night as there were three crime notifications around 2am on a Saturday. ”

“When we arrived we were informed the elevators will not be working because they are in the process of fixing or repairing them. The room smelled of dirty carpet and moldy. The Ford Fireworks show was that evening and it seems that the hotel let random people park at its location and set up beach chairs for around the property for the fireworks show that evening. The next day the parking lot was filthy and unacceptable. A lady with a young boy around 6 yrs old were in the pantry/dining area and……

“This place was… rough. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by staying in too many Airbnbs over the last few years, but I thought I’d save some money by booking a hotel instead. It had also been years since I used Expedia, but booking was easy, so shout-out to Expedia for that. The photos online looked great. But honestly, those pictures must have been AI-generated or taken 20 years ago, because there is no way they reflect the actual property. “Sarah provided exceptional hospitality, going out of her way to show us the amenities. Our room and the entire first floor of common areas were inviting, well-appointed, art-forward and yet commodious. Breakfast at Warda was “next level” and we appreciated having the vouchers for breakfast each day. Would recommend ALEO to anyone and would stay there again.”

“Staff was so friendly and kind. Room was absolutely beautiful. My only complaint for a not 5 star was that there were slightly large bugs in our room, not on the bed but on the floor, I’m only assuming since it’s dark with the solar lighting. Other than that this place was absolutely stunning and I will be returning!”
