Old rooms with chilling air con and nice pool
They said they cannot find our bookings. Not until I made long distance call to customer service at Hotels.com, they finally arranged the rooms. One room is old. The temperature control is damaged. Chilling cold. We tried to turn on the fan at ceiling. That old fan was very noisy. We requested room changing. For the pool，not big pool, but it is acceptable for this price. Room and pool are clean too.

My sister and I had visited this hotel two years ago and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, so we decided to go back but what a difference two years makes!! We also encouraged a friend to join us. We asked for the use of a night safe....which they advertised only to find that we had to put our valuables in an envelope in their office safe. The manager was most put out when we asked to see the envelope put in the safe. We asked for the use of an iron. After being told no and at our insistence an iron was found only to be told it must returned it immediately Our friend wanted fruit for breakfast and was told no fruit. The swimming pool hadn’t been maintained for some time as the water was a murky green rather than a clear blue. These are a few things that occurred amongst many other minor but very irritating events. Such a shame a quaint little hotel has been tainted by the disinterest and down right rudeness of the staff

Hello madam, As I ask my staff about your bad experience with us I want to tell you that 1) we have 24hrs secure our guests stuff but only 2 of 4 receptionists can open it, the time for open a safe box is between 8 am- 5 pm. and as my staff who you mentioned above she has already clocked out on 4pm and I think she can have her own time to rest. And my opinion the receptionist who on duty she did not told you about opening time and you also want to open a safe box right now and show everything infront of you, so she tried to make a call to disturbed her co-worker. 2) Our hotel have a laundry service include just ironing and also we don’t have any policy to let the guest borrow an iron but I broke a rule for you to let you borrowed my iron( you are my first and my last case) and for other things that you mentioned above I want say sorry to your bad experience and I will improve our performance. I’m still can remember when your friends visit us and had a good time back. My hotel is a small hotel family business, if someone who are high expectation my hotel is not fit to this target at all. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU **AVOID** THIS EXCUSE OF A HOTEL. The hotel was recommended to me by friends who had stayed 2yrs ago saying it was wonderful. My experience has been a huge let down. (1) Hotel states you can use a safety deposit box for free with 24hr access. The receptionist told me there wasn't one. I asked to speak with manager and was told she was asleep (it was 6pm). I politely insisted I needed to speak with her as all my holiday cash needed to be secured, she eventually came after 15mins and let me know she was angry. She took 10mins to store my cash because she forgot the code and then stared me out agresivley when I thanked her. (2) I asked for an iron to tidy my clothes and was told there wasn't one by receptionist. I asked to speak to the manager who looked at me like I was being very demanding and told me I could borrow one but I had to bring it straight back. I have never experienced such hostility for such a simple request in any hotel before. (3) At breakfast I asked for just fruit. (There was NO choice, only bacon egg and toast). I waited 20mins by which time my friends had finished theirs. Nothing came so I had to go looking for staff and was told "no" -so I didn't even get any breakfast! (4) the Aircon was unreliable. I had to get my friend to come over and get it working twice because I knew it would be a waste of time asking staff. (5) The shower head didn't mount the wall properly so I had to hold it and hose myself down. (6) The pool was murky with

It got the old school feel to it. Location wasn’t that bad. They need to have staff that can speak English a lil bit more than what they have now. The beds were a lil bit hard to sleep on. The pool needs better maintenance.

Great stay at Changpuak Hotel
A gem of an older style hotel in a good area of Chiang Mai, walking distance from the old city and food markets. It's run by a charming family and has all the simple facilities that a hotel of this grade should have. Extras include the swimming pool, a serene garden away from the noise and roads, a cafe serving great Thai homemade food and friendly helpful staff. Try to get a recently renovated room if possible, but older rooms are still comfortable with a fan as well as older air-con units. Bathrooms are adequate. Breakfast is OK, but there are many cafes a few minutes walk away. If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel and like a peaceful retro feel, Changpuak Hotel could fit the bill! If you prefer a busy hip vibe or new minimalist designed interiors, look elsewhere.

Older place, but wonderful staff!
Although the hotel itself is a bit old, the staff and service made up for it one hundred fold. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating, going out of their way whenever possible. The breakfast served was just right, and includes coffee, all for 100 baht (about $3USD). Good location, as in ,very close to the Chiang Mai moat, which is the center of everything.

Das Hotel hat eine super Lage... als ich erst in die Straße kam habe ich schon das schlimmste erwartet- aber das Hotel ist ein bisschen nach hinten gelegen und es ist ziemlich ruhig da (kein Straßenlärm)... ich wurde sehr nett empfangen und der Service ist sehr gut. Der Pool ist schön gepflegt und man kann dort gut die Seele baumeln lassen. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, zwar schon bisschen mitgenommen an einigen Stellen- hat aber seinen Zweck erfüllt... es war sauber da- ein frischer Duft ist einem entgegen gekommen: sehr angenehm. Was bisschen unschön war ist, dass es ziemlich hellhörig ist- wenn die Türen zugeknallt werden oder die Leute aus dem Nebenzimmer sich unterhalten bekommt man ALLES mit... paar Zimmer weiter haben sich einige Russen lautstark gestritten- auch das war in meinem Zimmer leider ziemlich doll zu hören. Dafür kann das Hotel aber nichts- nur für die anderen Besucher zu beachten. Übrigens ist der Anfahrtweg zum Hotel über die App falsch. Laut der App befindet sich das Hotel weiter hinten bei der Straße (in der Nähe der Universität)- ist aber tatsächlich ziemlich zu Beginn der Straße...

Friendly, homey atmosphere
We enjoyed our stay immensely, the family and staff are truly what make this hotel a great place to stay. This is proof in the number of returning guests year after year. The hotel itself has seen better days but then so have I. The rooms are very clean and your needs are immediately looked after. Our hot water quick working and the staff immediately rectified the situation by replacing the hot water heater with s new one. Again exceptional customer service. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely small hotel
The hotel is situated 10 minutes north of Chang Puak Gate, so there is a short walk to the old city. It has a shabby chique feel to it and probably would benefit from updating some of the rooms. The swimming pool is great to unwind after a long day sight seeing. Not all the staff speak English.

ホテルのスタッフは皆さまとても親切でフレンドリーでした。部屋の設備にドライヤーがあると書いてあったが、実際は無くて不便でした。朝早くから鳥の鳴き声で起こされます、早起きが苦手な方にはちょっとうるさいくらいです。部屋の中は清潔に清掃されてますが蚊や小さい蟻が入ってくるので虫除けは持参した方がよいです。 ランドリーサービスは少し料金高めでした、自分で洗濯しようかと思いましたがランドリールームは無く、外（路上にある）のコインランドリー的なものを利用することになりました。

An oasis of calm
We stayed at this hotel for 16 nights while visiting relatives in Chiang Mai. Because we were staying so long we wanted the room to be right as I understand that some rooms have been refurbished and others not. The first room we were allocated had nowhere to hang our clothes, we didn't fancy 16 nights living out of suitcases so we asked to be moved. The staff were really helpful and showed us two more rooms and we the one we chose was bright, airy and looked over the pool with loads of hanging space. Breakfast was good although the choice limited to congee or bacon & eggs. There was also coffee, juice and toast and marmalade. The pool was lovely. Surrounded by trees and flowers and so quiet it was hard to believe that you were in the middle of the city. The hotel was very quiet while we were there and we pretty much had the pool to ourselves. We would definitely stay again.

Nous conseillons vraiment cet hotel. Le petit dejeuner dans le jardin est super (100baths). Sur commande elles font les oeufs, omelettes... a votre gout. La piscine est tres bien, mais, peut-etre un peu froide. Les chambres sont tres bien mais il faut aimer les matelas durs. Nous avons tout aimes.

A rather Quaint , Quiet Hotel
Built in 1974, this quiet hotel sits well back from the main road , down a long driveway, surrounded by mature trees and graced with a delightful pool.Most rooms have been recently upgraded with an eye to colour and design , rather than practicality, ( for example, there are no bedside tables, no light over the bed, no where to hang your clothes, or a kettle to make your own tea.)Breakfast is served in the garden, a rather good cooked breakfast for 100bht can be enjoyed, while the mosquitoes breakfast on you.

Stayed here for five nights. It is an interesting old hotel. Cool grounds. Nice pool. Has a wonderful staff, very friendly. In a good location, waking distance to the old city. Some rooms are better than others, nothing is flashy though. ASK FOR ROOM 213 as it is nicer than others. Would recommend.

We stayed 3 days there. There is not plenty of place to go in Chiang Mai, the hotel is not close to bars & restaurants but there is lots of transportation near by. You have to walk ten minutes and pay a transport each time. I would recommend to find an hotel at the bottom right hand corner of the square (look at a map you will understand what I mean) to be closed to everything fine! The room is cheap but clean. The bathroom is really cheap (the shower evacuates on the bathroom's floor were the evacuation is...) The breakfast cost BHT 100 and is really cheap (two eggs, two bacons, a small orange juice, toasts and ORANGE jam...) The swimming pool is fine but we didn't go!

un cadre calme et agréable
joli établissement, très bien entretenu par une équipe tout sourire, ils sont tous au petit soin. Jolie piscine avec une agréable et vaste terrasse ombragée. Petit déjeuner correct mais pas assez varié. Seul petit bémol, nous avions réservé une chambre triple et nous sommes retrouvés dans une chambre double avec un lit supplémentaire.

nice budget hotel with nice amenities
Nice hotel with a great, but cold pool. Rooms spotlessly clean, good cleaning every day, always clean, nice smelling towels, free water every day. Wifi is not too great, but sufficient for email, and skype. Streaming of youtube or moviea inpossible. Shower is a wet room, with wTer heaters that hardly work, that is the buggest downside here. Very friendly personnel and owner, most of them speak adequate English, but sometimes there are only 2 persons in the same shift that don't speak English, which makes it time consuming and almost inpossible to communicate. Overall, great place with good location if you rent a bike. To get into the city center, it is a 20 minute walk. To get to Thapae gate, is a 30 minute walk. Do yourself a favor and rent a bike. The redtaxis are hard to get a fair rate from and hard to let you drive around town. Then you need a tuktuk, also hard sometimes to get a reasonable price. Breakfast is not good nor sufficient for the price.

A very pleasant staff, very helpful and corteous. Nice clean rooms in a surprisingly pleasant set up - and an AMAZING swimming pool. Not far from the historical center - 5 min walk Breakfast could be better and more varied for the price it is.

Guests requiring English to communicate to the hotel staff need to understand that they do not have that expertise and patience is required.- overall, it was just ok for the price charged. The location is not too bad as the bus station is nearby.
