The apartment suited our needs. We were in town to take care of some family business. Apartment was spacious and the location was perfect for us. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.

I was very appreciative of the terrific location near family for this stay. Good response from host Maria when two particular issues arose - parking information provided not 100% accurate as better to park on street - I got blocked in one day early on. Issue resolved after various calls to prop management. Wifi went out one day right when I needed it for work, so that was frustrating - outage didn't last long but really poor timing

Easy street parking, and as described. The old floors are creaky but that is more a problem for the owner below. Overall it felt like staying with relatives.

Very comfortable and clean. Floors were squeaky of an old house and furniture was cheap but I would stay there again. Back yard was unusable to guests and quite trashy but landlady (who lived downstairs) was pleasant. Nice neighborhood and we felt safe for our 4 night stay.

Grandparents visiting the kids. Fabulous week. It was wonderful having such a comfortable place to stay. Although an older home , it was neat, clean and well supplied. It's upstairs so you need to be able to climb.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is clean and well equipped. Very nice toiletries provided as well as coffee. I am 70 and have a knee replacement. The steps were not a problem for me. They are not steep and there are 2 landings. I highly recommend!

The outside of the apartment was bad and the driveway is completely in disarray, so are the steps to the apartment. Inside the apartment was okay to look at (looked clean). However, the sofa back fell off when I leaned back (I weigh~120 lbs). Similarly, the dustbin was broken. I think the furniture can be updated. The keypad stopped working, and I got help even on Saturday pretty promptly - I did like that. So mixed review overall. (The location was very close to Northwestern, which was great).

The location of the property was very good. The apartment rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Because of a knee repair the two flights of outside stairs up were rather difficult. I did not remember reading about them in the overview. The shower was pleasantly effective!

Overall, this was a great place to stay. It was clean and well supplied with all of the basics needed for our stay. The description of the property could be improved to include some of these other positives. It's on a cul-de-sac so it felt safe and street parking was easy. The space is on the second floor and the property owner lives downstairs and she was welcoming. The neighborhood was quiet yet close to the main road with a 15 minute walk to the train or downtown shopping and dining. We would stay again.

2 BR top floor flat. Functional kitchen and comfy living room that could use more lighting! Beds and linens excellent. There were enough towels to have extras for the 3 of us if needed. Secure. Easy parking

My son is in graduate school at Northwestern studying classical voice and opera. My sister and I stayed in your lovely second floor apartment for the weekend production. We did not have a vehicle so were able to walk most everywhere. An easy 1.2 mile walk into town and uber is super convenient as well. The neighborhood is charming and safe. Parking seemed that it may be challenging though was not a concern for us.

The rental was honestly a bit more worn down/aged than it looked in the pictures (broken blinds, very old bathroom, plastic rugs in the living room falling apart into tiny bits, very creaky floors and noisy heating system, kitchen only has very basic equipment. ..). But I got to give it a positive review anyway: the apartment is truly spacious, luminous with many windows, comfy, and ideally located near all conveniences (stores, restaurants, etc) within short distance of beautiful Evanston, the lake, and Northwestern university. The neighborhood is super safe and quiet, with a big playground nearby for kids. We would probably stay there again if in town because it was a pleasant, if not luxurious or updated, place. Super easy access to Dempster st, which is a busy artery that takes you everywhere. I called the rental agency twice with small issues, and I was able to speak with someone in their concierge service both times. Both times they were friendly and responsive but both times they said they would call me back with a resolution and did not. One big downside for us as a family staying for 3 weeks: the listing said there was a possibility to get access to laundry in the basement during long stays: this turned out to be a big headache and in the end, not a real option; we were forced to use a laundromat instead, which was inconvenient. Parking is also easy but we could not always park in the driveway so had to hope for a spot on the street (was fine).

My daughter and her partner got married over labor day and we needed a place to sleep my husband, daughter and son in law during night-before and day-of activities. The kitchen is well stocked and clean, living room roomy and couches super comfy and bathroom totally fine (with plenty of towels). I gave them an excellent rating -- they were very, very welcoming and accommodating. We were up early and out late, and I worried a little about being upstairs and making noise above possibly-sleeping heads :) The beautiful wood floors are a bit creaky (to be expected)... and the stairs up are pretty steep. Probably NOT great for grandma and grandpa with mobility issues but otherwise, it was great. Parking is a little tight on the street, but we never had a problem finding a space within a few feet. Thanks for the great weekend!

We communicated to the property managers that we would arrive late (after 9pm). Upon arrival at around 10pm, we found that the air conditioner was not working. It was 95 degrees that day in Evanston, and the inside of the apartment was 86 degrees. The owner, who lives downstairs, heard us coming up the stairs and popped in to see if the A/C was working. If she knew that there was a possibility that it might not be working, why didn't she check earlier in the day before we arrived at 10pm?? It was STIFLINGLY hot in that apartment, even with windows open, and we spent a sleepless night our first night there. It was awful. Fortunately, the owner had the A/C repaired the next day, but it was one day too late in my opinion. The owner contracts with a Chicago-based property management company who cleans the property and provides linens. When I mentioned the non-working A/C to the property manager later, she said, "did you turn on the thermostat?" Um, DUH! I live in Texas, so YES, I know what a thermostat is and YES I turned it on. It didn't WORK. Additionally, we were provided five bath towels and three handtowels and washcloths for our five night stay for three people, with no way to wash them since there is no washer/dryer on the property. I requested six additional sets of towels. I do not think this was unreasonable, since I don't mind re-using bath towels once, but I do like to have clean towels at least every other day. I know we are not in a hotel, but given that we don't have the option to wash the towels, I think the property manager needs to do a much better job of providing linens to guests, and they don't need to argue with guests so much about it. We paid WAY too much money for this apartment for us to have had to deal with so many hassles and rudeness from the property managers. A couple more notes: The cute little balcony is really just a landing at the top of the stairs with a small table and chairs. And the kitchen has ants, which should be addressed for future guests. Bottom line: the property is in a great location and has lots of potential. If you're in town for NU graduation like we were, or another special event, you're not far from anything. But you shouldn't have to deal with all these hassles. You should be able to pay your fee and just enjoy your stay without having to fight for basic amenities. We won't be recommending this property to anyone in the future.

This was a great place to stay to visit our college age daughter. It was nice to have a kitchen and a place to relax. The apartment was well equipped for a weekend get away
