I am not sure I want to admit how amazing this place is, for I always want to be able to return:) . Rooms are clean and somewhat modern but also cozy with beautiful local furniture, art and textiles. Everything was clean, and sleeping was very comfortable. The pool is amazing; we used it late night and early morning for some lap swimming! Food is delicious, local and organic; much of it comes from the property. Service is excellent, but it does help to have some Spanish. This place has an amazing history, but most impressive is its modern-day commitment to ecological sustainability. You will be staying in the middle of a living jungle with gorgeous manicured grounds immediately surrounding the property. The birds, trees and flowers are stunning. A once in a lifetime experience.

Adrian at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly! He got us a guide for Chichen Itza the evening before spring equinox, and arranged an early breakfast on our departure day. The grounds are really lovely, next time we will book a bird watching guide!

The hacienda is an amazing natural place in the tropical forest and there are many animals and insects atound. Its understandable and very nice but there should be a warning. I found scorpiona scorpion inside the reception area and different spiders inside the rooms. It can be dangerous for small kids. The room was comfortable and the whole experience was an adventure. The staff was friendly. I wanted to use the pool in the early morning but i had to wait because they were cleaning the pool and because the person responsible for the towels was not available, even when it says that the pool is is open from earlier.
