Post and Beam home with westward views of the ocean and sunsets
Welcome to the barn! This beloved home started as a post and beam barn built in 1983. 10 years later it was expanded; on one side, an open gourmet kitchen is flanked by a fireside breakfast nook, and a dining area looking out to the sea, and on the other side there are 3 additional bedrooms.
The kitchen was designed for a family that loves to cook. At your disposal is a full array of copper pots, an espresso machine, air fryer, Wolfe range, cookbooks, and plenty of tools of the trade. The fireplace even includes a pizza oven for the adventurous chef!
The original center of the house has two living rooms, one which looks out onto the deck and ocean, and the other with a view to the garden and doubles as a TV room. Upstairs in the main section the master bedroom opens to a balcony overlooking Menemsha Bight and Menemsha pond with views to Squibnocket pond and the ocean beyond.
The bedroom wing includes two large downstairs rooms (1 queen, 1 double), and a floorthrough upstairs bedroom with a double bed, two twin beds and separate bath.
The house was made for comfort and decorated with art and furniture made by family and friends. From watching the sunset on the deck, to relaxing in the garden, there is both space to spread out and follow individual interests, and to gather together.
The iconic Menemsha Fishing village is just a short walk or drive away. There you will find two fish markets, a bakery, galleries, antique and clothing shops and Menemsha Beach itself. You will also have access to Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket, two magnificent surfside beaches.

The property was enchanting and beyond what we expected. My family of 10 traveled from the west coast to Martha’s Vineyard to celebrate a wedding.
The property was perfect for our large group in every way - spacious, lovely common space, room comfort, extensive kitchen supplies and wonderful back deck overlooking the Menemsha Bay offer each evening breathtaking sunsets.
The property’s grounds are expansive with a beautiful natural simplicity that included a garden with fresh vegetables that we were encouraged to eat.
We hope to return next summer!
The Kahl Family
For those that want to enjoy the quiet beauty of Menemsha this home is in a wonderful location and has an abundance of charm. The views of the bay and the setting of the house are magnificent. The house itself has an amazing kitchen with anything one might want to prepare a gourmet meal and the rest of the house is very comfortably furnished and decorated with local curios and artwork to add to the charm of this home . Outside there is access to a vegetable garden, and lovely grounds (with hammock!). The owner is readily accessible and helpful with suggestions as needed. HIghly recommended!
A very comfortable, warm, aesthetically pleasing, and user-friendly home just a stone's throw from the village of Menemsha, with its handful of shops, eateries, harbor, and sunset beach. The chef's kitchen comes complete with a Wolf stove and every cooking implement you could need to prepare meals with the fresh ingredients to be found at the farmers stands and fresh fish markets in the vicinity. The house is filled with cosy couches for reading and relaxing, and all sorts of nooks for gathering around a warm fire or a game of cards. We enjoyed taking the lovely 15-minute walk down to the beach through pastures, woods, and wetlands. The host was very accommodating and responsive, providing all the detailed information we needed to feel prepared to travel during the pandemic. He also went out of his way to help when I forgot to arrange our beach passes in advance, which was much appreciated! Overall we couldn't have been happier and hope to return again.

Amazing House, Great Views, incredible hosts!
This is our second stay at this house. We LOVE it. We like to cook and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and all the necessary items. The house is very cozy and comfortable. The views are stellar! The sunsets are gorgeous. Bring your cameras. We had a family gathering here and we enjoyed building fires in the fireplaces and we had plenty of places to walk and hike. The menemsha FIsh market was nearby for our fresh seafood fix. I will be staying here again. The hosts checked in with us and helped us with information and treated us with incredible kindness. A REAL TREAT!

Wonderful Vineyard vacation
We had a wonderful vacation on the Vineyard at this home on a hill overlooking Menemsha Harbor. THe house is situated on a beautiful property with water views. You also can walk to the beach and a cute town. Great restaurants like the Homeport and Beach Plum are in waling distance. Our day consisted of great bike rides in the morning with Lucy Vincent beach in the afternoon. We cooked in the fabulous kitchen for most meals. The house is stocked with everything you need. No need to bring sheets, towels, or even basic kitchen supplies. You can just show up for the fun. It also helped that the owner was flexible with dates. A great find all around. Looking forward to next year.
