The staff is friendly and attentive, though they can be hard to reach during busy periods. While the accommodations are functional, they are very basic. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment; after a poor experience at our first included breakfast, we chose to eat elsewhere for the rest of our stay. To make matters worse, we were charged for that breakfast at checkout despite it being part of our package. The amenities are also quite limited—the pool is tiny, with only three lounge chairs, and because the restaurant is open to the public, the area was often crowded with non-guests and sand from the beach. It’s an okay stay for the price, but I wouldn’t return.

Good location on the beach. Other than that there was only negatives. I couldn’t get in when I arrived from a delayed flight despite reaching out earlier in the day. The AC did not work and there was no response when I mentioned this to them on WhatsApp. The bathroom had hair all over the shower and clearly had not been cleaned.

The room was nice and clean, the A/C worked great, the food and service were excellent, and the location on the beach was perfect. I'm only giving it a 4 instead of a 5 because there was no mention when booking that the shared bathroom didn't have hot water. I think it's unfair not to include that because it might affect some people's choice.

Location is perfect right on the beach. Room was average. Beds and a/c were good but water didn't work some times and it was pretty tight on space in the main area. Also room was right on the road so you can here all the cars going by. Resturant attached was good and the free breakfast/water is nice. Overall it had some really great things and some not good things which makes it average.

Olas Permanentes was great. A lovely and accommodating staff, great restaurant with a delicious complementary breakfast. Not to mention it’s right on the most beautiful beach which is also a premier place to learn surfing. It’s rustic, but exactly as described, and what I expected. Amazing sunsets into the ocean. I would return.

Accommodations basic but can upgrade to a private bath with tv. Construction everywhere which means noise! Pool being reqorked and most of the area near street. Including a 5 story building going up next door. Wish I knew... but the flip side. Nice staff, full breakfast, great location! The place is a restaurant too so lots of activity imcluding the surf side! Just beautiful! Saw a turtle release! The town is tiny with one paved road but great for culture and exploring. If you want an upscale experience, there are places that cater or in my case, a 20$ day pass was perfect:). Enjoy! Super safe and friendly.

Det var fin, men lite vann i dusje på et rom. Veldig ren, gode service, gode mat, stede er fin og vennlig. Vi bare håper at nye bygning som er i konstruksjon ta ikke fine utside og tradisjonell design.

Open space with the ocean as neighbour

Great concept of having a hotel with an open space! Right by the ocean, rooms with air conditioning and polite and kind staff. It gave a vibe of being a hotel ideal for surfers or people staying for one night. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on around, as there were new hotels in the making. But that’s if course not something they can help. Only comment I have is that our room had a weak shower with little water coming out. But it seems like that’s not the case for all rooms. With the newer more modern hotels coming, I truly hope they manage to keep going! Great place if you want the authentic stay.

This is my 2nd time staying and dining at Olas Permanentes. I absolutely love this place. The staff is super kind and friendly, and they always have a willingness to help and accommodate you. (Make sure to tip the staff and treat them with kindness) If the staff treats the customer right, it only means that the owner or manager of this place takes good care of them, as they should. The food is delicious. I haven't tried their whole menu yet, but I intend to. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. My 1st stay was in the Dolphin room (shared bathroom), and my 2nd was in the Turtle room. (There's a bathroom in the turtle room) Both times, the rooms were air-conditioned and clean. I slept like a baby. The 1st time I visited, there was a warrior dog named Kira. She was the most protective and cheerful dog I have ever seen. She keeps us company while we head down to the beach and walks us back to our room. I love that they are pet-friendly. I was sad to hear Kira is no longer with us, but she will always be remembered. I took pictures with her; who knew even a dog could make such a difference in your stay? I hope to come back very soon to watch a sunset while enjoying a ceviche de camarón and sipping on a Suprema.
