"The hotel was very new and the facilities fits well for a comfortable stay in Sapporo. The location is by far its biggest highlight given the short distance to Sapporo station and underground connection to the main underground walkway. You can reach all the key central areas without worrying the weather outside.
As for the rooms, it's super big for a Japanese hotel and great views given its high floors (lobby sits at level 10 and all hotel rooms are above it).
Though I expect most good hotels in Sapporo gives a wide variety of food choices in their buffet breakfast, the breakfast here was good in quality but not the top in terms of choices. More than good enough for a few days staying at The Gate Sapporo.
The public bath was a small area but decent and tidy. When there's a public bath facility in a hotel, I tend to use it all the time instead of my own room. For this hotel I particularly liked the hair dryer there - it's super."
