Scicli Church of San Matteo Hotels

"What a wonderful stay we had in Scicli with our host Francesca making it extra special. The place had everything we needed for our 6-night stay. It was clean, comfortable and close to all markets and the historic center. We used the location to tour the other Baroque Cities, Ispica, and the beach village of Sampieri. Francesca suggested we use the local car rental, Jolly Motors, to rent a car for three days. I highly recommend their friendly service. They came and picked us up and brought us back to the apartment after we turned in the car. On the last night of our stay Francesca arranged for us to have a tour of the historic Santorio of Santa Maria Nova given by a group of local teens and the musical composer who restored the church’s rare, Orchestral Organ built in 1776. His musical performance demonstrated the organ’s massive range of orchestral sound. Great overall accomodation. "

"The villa is spacious and generally well equipped. The aircon worked very well and the outside spaces, including pool, were fabulous and well maintained. Inside was a little "tired" and could do with some attention in places (some peeling paint and wallpaper in some areas and some shutter louvres hard to open/close) but nothing that couldn't easily be rectified. The villa was generally clean but the oven grill in the kitchen was in need of a deep clean - luckily we only needed it on our first morning when we discovered there was no toaster. The wifi was a little inconsistent but I guess it's a common issue in rural areas in Sicily - restarting the router worked though. The star of the whole show however was Franco - he was extremely helpful at all times and always available via whatsapp to answer queries or give recommendations etc. He also ensured we were provided with a toaster and was kind enough to agree to buy some provisions for us so we had some food for our first breakfast, so five stars to Franco! I should also add that Scicli is a gorgeous little town with some fantastic restaurants, shops, bars, churches and architecture and very friendly people. "

"The holiday was excellent and the villa was exactly as advertised. The owner Gianluca was very friendly and always very helpful. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway and still close enough to supermarkets and the sea"

"The villa was clean but needed some updating the swimming pool were really old in and out needed upgrading the road was really bad to get to the villa really nice owners lovely view and relaxing just needed updating and lots of lizards in the property had to kill lots my kids were really scared didn’t sleep at night. "

"The place was great. Amazing .. very open. Spacious. I can not say anything negative. The village house is in a side street. Very very very quiet. The a/c worked well. It was extremely hot. There was amazing cave restaurant across the street. Comunications wirh the owner was great. This is a modern way to stay in a real Italian village. The area is amazing. And thank you for the 2 big things that you did. Maybe I will stay here again in the future. I am thinking about coming back. "
