On arrival checking in was made easy by the friendly staff, I was giving all the information needed about my stay and made feel very welcome. The grounds are beautiful and I very much enjoyed taking my outside. The staff were exceptional and made my stay so enjoyable and I will certainly be back.

Much faded since my previous stay about 8 years ago. Id asked for a twin room but was given a double bed. The duvet however, was edge to edge so didn't cover 2 people adequately. The cooked breakfast sausage, mushrooms, hash browns were deep fried. Mushrooms looked like sheep droppings, tiny and black. Evening meal on Friday was better.

Sadly this is one of the worst Hotels I’ve ever stayed in, I find it funny to think that it causes itself a boutique hotel. Lovely gardens and that’s where it stops. What I loved was the fact that my room was right next door to the main road, so the idea of sleeping was an impossibility with traffic passing right next door to the window all night Long.

I was confused by the reviews on this hotel as they swung from terrible to fantastic. I found the place perfect for my stay, while doing the coast to coast walk. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, the bar was good, I didn’t require an evening meal. The room was clean as were the facilities. There is really nothing nearby, (by foot). The building is old and does need a lot of work, but this didn’t affect my stay. The room furniture was also a little ‘tired’, but my stay was comfortable.
