"My husband and I needed a place to stay while attending a family gathering. Did not want the usual hotel setting. This place offered more personal experience and had the perk of a family style breakfast that was 10/10. Would stay again"

The Turk Lake House - Lakefront with Toys and A/C!
8/10 Good
"Cute place. I would recommend a welcome book that explains the heat/ air on the wall, the local restaurant and gas station. It would be nice to have a couple more kayaks considering it’s a house and they expect more than 2 people. Also the shower needs to be deep cleaned because there is mold present, and also the window sills need cleaning due to mold. There should be a lighter available to start grill and bond fire. Also recommend a shelf or 2 to add to the kitchen because we stayed for a week and bought groceries but hard to put the stuff somewhere that wasn’t the fridge, had to use top of fridge and microwave. . Room fresheners would be nice as well as it had a very musty smell. I’m sure we were the first of the season so I am sure it was it needed to be aired out a bit."
Private dock on large, spring-fed lake with kayaks
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful, comfortable property! It was the perfect combination: felt like an "old school" family Cottage--- but with upgrades to the bathrooms, kitchen, and entire downstairs, that made it comfortable for what we expect in 2026. We loved the giant screened in porch, and the landing (on the way to the lake) with the rocking chairs… We were there at the very beginning of May, so it was breezy and kind of cool, and being able to be up on the porch and protected from the wind made the porch an awesome place for morning coffee, or dinner. The dock hadn't been put out, yet, but around dusk I sat down on the bottom steps, and saw all sorts of small wildlife. We felt far away from everything, yet drove only an hour to the tulip festival, in Holland, which was the purpose of our trip… And then spent a delightful afternoon at the Chihuly exhibit, at the Meijer Botanical Gardens, 1/2 hr away, in Grand Rapids.Suggestions: If you don't want to be up at sunrise, bring sleep masks; the upstairs bedrooms are very bright, as soon as the sun is up… There is no grocery store nearby, just a convenience store, and a really great ice cream/lunch place; you may want to come prepared with the bulk of your food… We were there during spring cleanup, and there was a tremendous amount of leaf blower noise, from the Neighbors. (On Saturday and Sunday it was about 3 to 4 hours each day!… Only about an hour each day on the weekdays.) We would go again to this great place, but not on a w/e in early May!"
"You wouldn't imagine this little place packs all the class when you pull up. Step through the doors and be amazed! This immaculate little retreat, nestled in the middle of Michigan is a must stay if in the area if you're a water person, fisherman, boater or seeking the prefect getaway. The Grandpas cottage with Grandmas touch with a modem touch. Fishing for early May was slow but the weather was cool and gloomy. But a day "fishing" here was better than a day in the office and the river and home views were very cool. .A must stay if the area. Stop in town for the forgotten items. Will stay again if I am in the area."
