This place was definitely created with a lot of love and appreciation for the natural beauty of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and community. We were awe struck by the silence, views and comfort of this place. The silence was only broken by the occasional sounds of the neighboring horses grazing throughout the day, sounds of night crickets and an occasional elk bugle. The deer crossed in groups in the early morning light. We were there on a new moon so the star gazing and photography was spectacular at night. We experiences the wonderful fall colors of the area during the day. The cabin accommodates enjoyment of all of these amenities with comfortable outdoor/indoor sitting areas and a very complete kitchen for preparing good comfort cuisine. The indoor decorum also has lovely knick-knacks, hanging art and admirably crafted construction to admire while relaxing. Appreciated the cleanliness as well.On more than one occasion we took wonderful hikes on the Hayden Creek Trail in the San Isabel National Forest, trails within a 10 minute drive from the cabin. The trees in this forest area are diverse (Douglas firs, Ponderosas, Cottonwoods, Oak, aspen, spruce, etc.) all growing together healthy and very large compared to other Colorado forest areas we've been. We also identified many Ute tended trees, giving an historical element to the area.We slept well, ate well, relaxed well and played well. Our two well-behaved dogs thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness and smells of the place as well. They also slept MUCH. Definitely a place we would return to for another stay.
