I think this was our 5th or 6th Valentine's Day week stay. It was wonderful, as always. Cozy little house, comfy bed, fabulous bathroom, fantastic hot tub. A good place to settle in and take a break. The views are amazing. We had kind of crappy weather, but it's a nice place to snuggle in warmly when it's cold and rainy/snowy out. The fireplaces available at the push of a button make things homey and romantic.

Stole away for a long weekend and this did not disappoint. Everything was perfectly cozy and relaxing - exactly what I was looking for. If I didn't live a 4 hour plane ride away, I think I'd be back more frequently; but I certainly will return!

We had a great time staying here. We used the pool, hot tub and kayaks. The view is beautiful and the neighbors are very friendly. There is not much to do close by but there is so much to do at the house we didnt get bored.

My husband and I booked this property for a cozy winter weekend away. This is one of those properties that ends up being BETTER in person than the listing indicated. We didn't even leave the house the entire weekend. The kitchen was so well stocked that we just cooked our meals. The hot tub was so clean, relaxing and had he BEST view of the river. We were lucky enough for it to snow while were were there. It was a gorgeous scene! I really can't say enough good things about this property - they really thought of everything to make our stay incredible!

I knew when I found this listing that I may have uncovered a hidden gem and I was right! We stayed just for a long weekend but everything was cozy and the local towns were so friendly. We definitely enjoyed White Dog Bistro, Southwind Pizza and Richardsons. Even though we ate out most of our time, the house had most of the essentials if you chose to cook there. The hot tub and fire pit were favorites, we stopped at Food Lion just to get Marshmallows to roast. My husband caught lots of fish while kayaking and at night from the fire pit area and community dock. Definitely keeping this spot on our list for next year's getaway, maybe we'll even bring the kids with us.

Impressed by this quiet and safe community. This property is a slice of heaven. So much to see and do! Need to stay longer next time just to experience every aspect of this rental. The views all day long were spectacular. The owner really has thought of everything for the renters to just show up and enjoy being on the Rivah!

The pictures are exactly what you get. The great view, water close enough to touch with steps right down to it. Unfortunately it was windy, rainy and cold while we were there, but the hot tub warmed us up and the view was still spectacular. It would be the perfect spot in warmer weather with all of the outside amenities. We would stay again.

We used to stay here every year, but hadn't been back for several. The new bathroom is amazing! We also appreciated other little upgrades. We had a lovely time and hope to be back. Robert is always improving the place!

The house was nice and the views were great. The neighbors were helpful. It felt good to get away from video games and computers and just be more active. There was plenty to do around the community and the house. My boys didn’t touch their devices until we left. The overall area was peaceful and the deck leading to the water was just great. We didn’t get to use all the equipment provided (kayak and hot tub)

Long weekend to reconnect with my husband. This was perfect. We actually preferred to hang out at the cottage as opposed to going out. This cottage has some great personal touches. Heated bathroom floor and towel rack. Heated blanket. Beautiful electric fireplace in the bedroom. Fantastic private hot tub, sheltered from the elements, wood supplied for the fire pit, electric wine opener. A shed full of things to do - bikes, kayaks, fishing rods, outdoor games. Inside there is a variety of games, puzzles & books. The scenery was stunning! A very responsive & accommodating host.

Beautiful cozy cottage with amazing views. Everything was just as described. The heated bathroom, fireplaces and hot tub made the stay even more enjoyable. Only downside was aunts were on the kitchen counter that is not the owners fault. The other disappointment was the last night we were there we were in the hot tub around 8pm and we kept hearing something and seeing strange lights. It scared us and we got inside to find out some guy backed up to the front door and was unloading firewood and putting it on the side of the house and was fixing the wood pile. He was there for a good 1/2 hour or so. Very intrusive especially with all the windows. We were not sure if it was the neighbor or the owner. We would have given this 5 stars if it wasn’t for the firewood guy.

Robert has thought of everything--from towels to kayaks to firewood to pantry items. We stayed for a whole week in the beginning of August. We could not have asked for a better place to relax with our three year old. The views are unbelievable and so is the house. From the relaxing days in the hammock to both fire pits outside, the fireplaces inside, the hot tub at night, kayaking during the day, swimming at the beach, having the whole pool to ourselves--this trip was perfect. My daughter loved all of the hummingbirds, crabs right down the steps from our house and the frogs that jumped up onto the patio doors at night catching flies. We traveled to Williamsburg one day which was fun. We also traveled to the little town of Matthews a bunch of times. Richardson's is great for ice cream and you must eat at the White Dog. It's pricey but worth it. They were very accommodating to our three year old. We will be back to visit this cottage one day. It was the perfect vacation to unwind and reconnect with each other. Robert was a perfect host and I would recommend this property again and again!
