This is our second visit.

This is our second visit. The lodges are very homely and cosy. The views from the lodges are stunning. Lovely walks from your front door. The on-site restaurant and bar is an extra bonus.

Only minus point for me was the beds been uncomfortable. To hard. Only my preference. Everything else was great. Plenty of space. Loved the idea of two double bedrooms with en-suites. Especially when sharing with friends.

Third time here now and just as good as always.

Third time here now and just as good as always. Stayed in the Coleridge Wood Burner lodge again, everything you could possibly need, large bedrooms, two of them ensuite! Pets made very welcome. Great location, a bit further out of the way from your normal busy parts of the lake district, just as we like it, but still just a 15 minute drive to Keswick or Cockermouth. Keswick retreat is always very clean, the accommodation is fantastic and the bar/restaurant are great. Made use of the health suite this time, and massage was first class. The two young ladies behind the bar/waitresses are superb, always very friendly and helpful, in fact all the staff couldn't do more for you. Nothing not to like!

Lodge felt spacious for 4 adults 2 children and 2 dogs.

Lodge felt spacious for 4 adults 2 children and 2 dogs. Beds and couches comfortable and kitchen well equiped. Minor marks on walls etc with lodge being 'pet friendly' which is to be expected. En-suite in master bedroom was starting to look tired and maybe in need of replacement but caused no issue. Re-booked for October.

Lovely place but too secluded

Keswick Reach was a lovely place to stay and very secluded... too secluded for us. Our car broke down on day 3 of a 5 day stay. We were left solely dependent on what little food we had, what the shop sold and what the restaurant served. We found the shop lacked items like bacon, sausages, bread, etc but had a lot of sweets and crisps. It is far from other shops so we expected more. My dad can't have cheese as it sets his heart out of rhythm, so he could only have garlic bread when it was pizza night. The receptionist didn't care when we expressed this concern. We also couldn't get my dad up the steep hill in his wheelchair to the restaurant. The bar supervisor said that we could collect an order on Thursday. We left the site that evening but we were thankful for the offer. RAC had to come onsite 3 times over 2 days. We told reception about the 2nd visit who agreed to let him onsite but when they arrived, she refused to, despite clearly being from RAC. He finally got past as others wanted to be onsite behind him. We spoke to Morgan on the 3rd visit who let the van through- no problem at all! We had some issues with the lodge which were seen to ASAP or would be sorted when we vacated. Most of the staff were friendly and happy to help. We found reception staff could do with a bit more compassion. Nobody wants to break down on their holiday after taking time off work and spending money on accommodation and day excursions so a little sympathy should not be too much to ask.
