The Blu Shutter Beach House is the best location for a vacation! Just across the street is Hagar Park and Beach. A hidden gem amongst the many beaches in Michigan. This beach is clean, quiet, and beautiful. It has gorgeous sunsets and peaceful waters all year long.
The house is located right in the middle of two iconic beach towns: St. Joseph and South Haven. With a short eight mile drive down the road you will find yourself in beautiful St. Joe, where you can enjoy the shops, restaurants, beaches and the Harbor Shores Signature Golf Course. Throughout the year, St. Joseph has many festivals and activities for visitors of all ages, making it worth the trip anytime of the year! Similarly, just 10 minutes up the road is the wonderful town of South Haven. South Haven is home to many biking/walking trails, breweries, and iconic lighthouses. More attractions near the Blu Shutter Beach House are Holland, Michigan which is home to the Tulip Festival in May, Four Winds Casino in Hartford and Michigan’s Adventure Water Park in Muskegon.
This is going to be the place to make your happy memories with friends and family.
The house has three bedrooms and our bonus room; allowing 10 guests to sleep comfortably. There are two bathrooms. The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower, for easy access, and heated floors. The upstairs bathroom has a jetted tub for relaxing after a busy day of shopping and having fun at the beach! The kitchen is large with an open floor plan, air fryer, microwave, and coffee maker. The game room has many board games for family fun (and some adult ones too)! Outside of the house you will find a beautiful large deck with a charming L-shaped patio couch. The Blu Shutter Beach House has plenty of room to play, make memories, and relax.

We had a wonderful time at Dianna’s property. It was clean, comfortable, and child friendly. Dianna was super helpful and responded quickly when we had questions.The location was great! We walked across the street to the BEAUTIFUL beach many times and played on the playground with my nephew.We would definitely stay again!

Clean room and helpful host. One thing to note is that I had no cell reception, so it was challenging to communicate and receive check in code for the front door. Luckily, the owner texted me and it came through, but even on the house wifi I wasn't having much luck accessing the VRBO website. We enjoyed our stay and had what we needed.

Fun and Friendly

Our robotics team stayed here during a weekend competition. Diana’s house was exactly as we had expected and suited our needs. Diana was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Perfect beach access

The location is amazing for anyone wanting to spend all their time at the beach; its literally right across the road with less than a 5 minute walk to put your toes in the sand. The house was perfect for our group with plenty of beds, bathrooms, and space for 5 adults and two kids. I know the water was a concern for several past renters, but for anyone who is familiar with well water, the house is perfectly normal and the addition of a jug water dispenser in the kitchen is a major plus. Diana, the owner is really easy to work with and perfectly reasonable in her requests/house rules.

Wonderful visit

We had a great time. The house was perfectly clean and very close to the beach. I liked all of the notes around the house. The fun personality of the owner definitely came through. Would stay again.

Beautiful Fall Stay

We had a wonderful weekend here! Great for families with kids, just a short walk across the street to a park with a playground and the beach! There are a lot of fun fall things in this area too. Took a 15 min drive to Jollay Orchards for apple picking and fall activities too. Would highly recommend!

Great beach vacation

This property was conveniently located across the street from a nice beach that we enjoyed almost every day. It is close to Coloma which offered a nice movie theater and a nice restaurant. It is also close to wineries and breweries in the area. It was perfect for our stay with our Son and his family.

Fun Time With Friends

What a cute little getaway! Looks like a cute little farm lakehouse with quite a bit of yard for yard games. Tons of beds for sleeping in, little notes for how to use things, and Dianna the host is super sweet!

Great memories

The house was charming and suited our needs well. We loved the beautiful surroundings, close proximity and access to Lake Michigan, walks on the beach enjoying beautiful sunsets, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and a bike ride to Paw paw lake. We were here for a family wedding and it was a great place for us to stay together. Dianna was easy to reach for any questions and very accommodating. We had a wonderful stay.

Weekend getaway

The house was a perfect place to stay for the weekend. We were able to locate it quickly and it was a short distance to Baroda/St. Joseph wineries. The house was very clean, dishes provided, fire wood, and ample room for 6 adults. We will be back.

Nice family getaway for the 4th!

We enjoyed our time at the house. It had a lot of the amenities we were looking for. The property is a short drive from South Haven and St.Joseph. The beach was a short walk and we got to see fireworks from the surrounding neighbors and while we were on the beach. Overall a great trip. :)

Good for a quick trip

Close to the park, kid friendly! The traffic on M 63 was loud. We used ourown water due to the Sulphur smell. The hpuse was roomy and alot of time and energy put in converting it. Home owner was gracious and attentive. . .

Perfect spot to relax!

We had a great time during our stay! Dianna was very responsive and helpful both ahead of time and during, and was great about communicating things we’d need (or want) to know ahead of time also! Everything was clean and the house was spacious. The house has great bones so sound didn’t carry into the bedrooms much at all, so we all got great rest! Our favorite feature was certainly the beach being merely paces across the street, right outside of our front door. It was a dreamy beach with the perfect proximity. Thanks again, Dianna! If ever we’re around again we will certainly stay with you. Thank you!

Beach wedding weekend

The house was perfect for our needs. There were 9 of us sharing the house for a long weekend and it was had plenty of casual seating for us. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and condiments. Bring dishwasher packs though. The bathrooms are really nice, and the beds were comfy. There were a variety of games to play, and the offer to let us use the beach toys was very nice. There was plenty of wood for the fire pit, and the kindling and tinder were already sorted. Dianna responded very quickly to questions, and very kindly offered to send a souvenir that we had missed packing.

Perfect for us

Our family spends a week at Lake Michigan each year. This was our first year staying at the Blue Shutter beach house. We had 6 adults and one child. If you’re looking for a high end rental, this is not for you. If you’re looking for a cozy beach house, this one is great. The house is stocked with all of the kitchenware you need for meals. They provide enough toiletries, paper dilly, etc for a day or two. On site laundry is a plus. Plenty of board games for rainy days. The beach access right across the street at Hagar park is so nice. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch for coffee in the mornings and to escape the bugs in the evening. The owner was very accommodating in a few requests we had and made us feel welcomed. Overall, it was a great place to spend time with family and we would definitely rent again!

too many rules

charging us for cleaning and than telling us to clean is nuts, we had to strip our sheets and take them down stairs, take out the trash, buy products that should have been their, like garbage bags, grill did not work nor the was there a working lighter for the grill....The beds were comfortable. The water smelled like rotten eggs. and the stairs were scary. The owner kept telling me to go 2 miles down the road to buy the products that should have been there already. I would never stay there again.

We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your establishment. The owner was friendly, easily accessible and accommodating. They even provided games for us to play should the weather not cooperate for outside and/or beach time. The only thing I could really critique would be the property listing itself, which indicates there is a loft area. In all reality, the "loft area" is actually a small closet at the top of the stairs with no windows and a single mattress on the floor. This wasn't a problem for our group, as there were enough actual beds/bedrooms to accommodate our party, but I could see how this could possibly be a problem for future guests. Other than that, the place was as advertised, clean, and fun to stay in.

Came here on a trip with family and friends. Had 8 adults and 3 year old. Good sized kitchen (larger than expected based on pictures) and plenty of room to spread out. Was unusually warm for October so was able to take advantage of the lake and beach which is just across the road. It is a major/busy road. Nice outdoor seating and large fire pit.

Great Location

The location of this property was great for our trip. Thie house has its own unique charm. We all loved the park right across the street from us. It was perfect for spending the day on the beach. Dianna is a top notch host!
