We love to host our guests and are shocked at VRBO not removing absolute lies about our property. Please read all the rest of our 4/5 star reviews. We truly pride ourselves on our hospitality. NEW LOWER RATES!!! The Blu Shutter Beach House added a huge, beautiful , deck across the entire front of the house. With a beautiful new L shaped patio couch. This is going to be the place to make your happy memories with friends and family. New range with air fryer, microwave and refrigerator. Location, is this homes best feature. St. Joseph, located 8 miles down the actual street the house sits on, is a 10$ Uber ride to downtown St. Joe. With all its shops, restaurants, beaches and Harbor Shores Signature golf course. Ten minutes up the street is beautiful South Haven. If you continue 30 minutes north, Holland, with its world renown Tulip festival in May. Located right in the middle of several wineries, breweries and fruit farms. If lady luck is with you, take a short 12 mile ride to nearby Four Winds Casino in Hartford . The thrill seekers will love Michigan's Adventure, Michigan's largest amusement and outdoor water park. The house has 3 bedrooms and our bonus room sleeping 10 comfortably. Two bathrooms with an open floor plan and a large eat in kitchen. Both bathrooms are completely brand new. The down stairs bathroom has a walk in shower, for easy access. The upstairs with a whirlpool tub for relaxing after a busy day of shopping and having fun at the beach. Game room with family fun board games along with some adult fun ones too. Great place to spend your vacation.

Confirmation of property threw me off
We were unable to access the location after arriving with 2 teens who were on spring break ! I’m still waiting for my FULL refund to know if I will receive it in total. What I don’t understand is I had several emails stating that my booking was confirmed and itinerary sent to me before arriving. I thought I was good to go for the 4 nights of spring break /and then last minute had to tell the teen girls so sorry this is not gonna happen. Also after looking around property I could not see any hot tub that was listed . It looked to me that they were not ready to open this house for the season. It is across the street from the lake/not on the lake like in the photo’s . This was very unfortunate but a blessing at the same time . Not worth the money for a 4 night stay in this area . I will admit my assuming that the property was secure after the first installment was my fault and assuming that the property was secured with the confirmation that I did receive and not reaching out to the host the day of or the day before. Good luck !

Weekend getaway
The house was a perfect place to stay for the weekend. We were able to locate it quickly and it was a short distance to Baroda/St. Joseph wineries. The house was very clean, dishes provided, fire wood, and ample room for 6 adults. We will be back.

We decided on VRBO because of other visits it was easier. But this stay we got a lashing via text about what not to do before we even got there. The sulphur smell was overwhelming. There were notes everywhere. Just didn't feel comfortable. Plus we had to pay for three nights whether we were there or not. No lake view because of brush.

Great beach vacation
This property was conveniently located across the street from a nice beach that we enjoyed almost every day. It is close to Coloma which offered a nice movie theater and a nice restaurant. It is also close to wineries and breweries in the area. It was perfect for our stay with our Son and his family.

Stay away
This is an old and foul smelling house. The sulfur and mold could only be rivaled by the bad and cheap remodeling. We booked 3 night and stayed 2 concerned about my kids health. Hindsight 20/20, i should have noticed the little signs with the reviews… The living room being split in 2 rooms, 1 smaller room inside of a bigger one and no access to the front porch. You cannot watch the tv as a group, as it is too far and not enough space. If you have breathing or sensitivities/allergies this is not for you. Do yourself a favor and book a hotel. It is cheaper and cleaner.

We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your establishment. The owner was friendly, easily accessible and accommodating. They even provided games for us to play should the weather not cooperate for outside and/or beach time. The only thing I could really critique would be the property listing itself, which indicates there is a loft area. In all reality, the "loft area" is actually a small closet at the top of the stairs with no windows and a single mattress on the floor. This wasn't a problem for our group, as there were enough actual beds/bedrooms to accommodate our party, but I could see how this could possibly be a problem for future guests. Other than that, the place was as advertised, clean, and fun to stay in.

Clean and comfortable in a great location!
We really enjoyed staying at this property and being able to walk across the street to the beach! This house is very clean and comfortable and perfect for a family with kids…ours enjoyed the DVD player in the bedroom. The whirlpool tub, water cooler, beach chairs, towels and toys were nice extras. Kitchen is well stocked. The owner is prompt in responding to messages and was very accommodating when we had to make a change to our reservation. A great place to stay!

Blue shutter beach house family getaway
Pros: super clean property, stocked with all kitchen needs, room air conditioners, fans in every area, towels and bed sheets aplenty. Fire pit and gas grill for use of customers, great location across from public Lake Michigan beach, plenty of parking. Cons: property on a noisy road ( air conditioners covered the sound), furniture in living room area and washer/dryer were a bit past their prime, water smelled strongly of sulphur and filtered water dispenser for drinking ran out the second day (bottled water strongly encouraged for future guests). Be careful of uneven concrete in walkway by entrance door. All in all a clean but bit worn property.
