John Cozy Cottage, Sleeps Four

This bright and fresh cottage is tucked away in the trees among other cottages. The property is also RV friendly if you want to park your own camper or trailer on the site. The property has a modern kitchen, modern bathroom, flat screen TV, fire pit and more. It is very close to one of the nicest parks and beaches on Lake Michigan. We are very proud of this property! This property is clean and new and the beach is only a few steps down from the bluff above, making it perfect for families.

With some unforeseen circumstances, John our host, upgraded us to his Beach Cottage. Our stay was restful & comfortable, because the beach cottage allows for it. The place was clean and had all the desired amenities. Full kitchen is equipped and the shower is fantastic. Lake Michigan is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the cottage. The neighborhood is filled with lovely people. John is a remarkable host & highly recommend him & his properties.

The very small cottage needs to be updated. The host was great during the beginning and most of stay. At the end, when we wanted to stay a few weeks longer, he was rude and not helpful at all. When it snowed, there wasn't a shovel for us to take care of it, and no one else did either. It was extremely unsafe. The cottage is extremely overpriced and smells musty. We only stayed as long as we did because of already paying and for work purposes. We found much better accommodations for much cheaper for our duration.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and affordable for my son and I, with a nice kitchen and amenities. A perfect place for 2 guests, 2 couples or small family to explore the area and beaches! The shower was a bit small, but nice and clean!

Great stay

The cottage was really cute and clean. Short drive to a beautiful beach. The location was perfect for exploring St. Joseph and South Haven. The owner was very quick to answer questions and very friendly. Some of the reviews mentioned the shower being small but to me it was a cottage shower that served it's purpose I have no complaints. I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and Peaceful

I booked this cottage and then there was a problem w/ the well so John upgraded me to Livingston's Fabulous Beach House--a 3-bedroom house nearby. This review reflects my stay at the Beach House, which was a peaceful, airy, welcome retreat. John was most gracious in making this upgrade change and I had a fabulous few days to myself......95 steps down to beautiful beaches where I could walk for miles. I highly recommend Livingston's Fabulous Beach House, or connecting with John to stay at any of his properties. My sincere thanks, John!

Change of venue

Before i left for my stay i was contacted by the owner. An issue with the original house had an issue so i was graciously put into an upgrade for the same price.My new place was hugh, warm and cozy.Thanks John i had a terrific time.

5 nights at Cozy Cottage

Overall, not excellent but good. Kitchen very good. Queen bed fine though bedroom is small for the size of bed. Quiet neighbors. Flooring is attractive. It was clean and towels were fine. Negatives: Definitely not for handicapped or mobility impaired. The nice, large deck has two steps of normal height and then a 2-inch final step that blends in with the deck and trips one. I fell once because of it. A bright strip is needed to alert one to the final 2-inch step. The shower is small and old. Size was not a problem to either of us because we are not overweight. For large people it would be difficult. The greater problem was one of the shower doors was off the track and I could not get it back on. The shower is the worst problem. Window venetian blinds worked fine on three windows. Four others either did not work or partially worked. A new air conditioning/heating system installation is in process. Due to wonderful weather, we did not need the small window a/c. We were thankful for space heaters some mornings. Living area furniture (hide-a-bed sofa and chair) were functional for sitting but not great. We enjoyed our stay but probably would not return unless we knew maintenance had been completed. It has the feel of a project in process--which eventually could be very nice.

The stay was great. About a 10 minute walk to the beach. Pull out bed was very uncomfortable and shower was not the best but outside of that the stay was lovely! I would just suggest bringing an air mattress.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary. The country setting was enjoyable and for us was much better than staying in a motel. The price was very reasonable and it was close to shopping and restaurarants. Very nice.

Cozy cabin, summarize it. Clean kitchen and living area. Small shower, bedroom and pull out is typical, horrible to sleep on. Best to bring air mattress to put on top. Small window ac unit in main living area only. That was fine for us since weather was decent but any warmer temps would’ve been an issue. Had coffee maker, tiny microwave and tvs are tiny as well.

Would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage and would stay again. It was a little tight for three adults plus one 17 yo (girls trip). We ended up getting an air mattress and sleeping on that plus the couch (not folded out) because the mattress on the hide-a-bed didn’t seem like it would be comfortable to sleep on. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable. The property was quiet and overall we enjoyed our stay!

Clean beach house

House was very clean. Factory next door was loud as well as highway behind house. House was not located on Lake Michigan…had a long walk down unstable stairs (with no railing) to get to beach…not suitable for handicap individuals. Traffic was loud and factory had fumes and noisy during the day. No cards or games of any sort.

Cute, secluded cottage, nice for couple. Beach is farther than listing. Shower very small

Cute cottage, but shower needs attention: shower doors do not slide easily and come off track, water handle pulls right off, shower drain cover is unattached to floor, leaving drain pipe easily exposed. First rental we’ve had that had a key for entry and not a lock box. Concerned that any previous guest could have made copy of said key for nefarious reasons.
