The Blu Shutter Beach House is the best location for a vacation! Just across the street is Hagar Park and Beach. A hidden gem amongst the many beaches in Michigan. This beach is clean, quiet, and beautiful. It has gorgeous sunsets and peaceful waters all year long.
The house is located right in the middle of two iconic beach towns: St. Joseph and South Haven. With a short eight mile drive down the road you will find yourself in beautiful St. Joe, where you can enjoy the shops, restaurants, beaches and the Harbor Shores Signature Golf Course. Throughout the year, St. Joseph has many festivals and activities for visitors of all ages, making it worth the trip anytime of the year! Similarly, just 10 minutes up the road is the wonderful town of South Haven. South Haven is home to many biking/walking trails, breweries, and iconic lighthouses. More attractions near the Blu Shutter Beach House are Holland, Michigan which is home to the Tulip Festival in May, Four Winds Casino in Hartford and Michigan’s Adventure Water Park in Muskegon.
This is going to be the place to make your happy memories with friends and family.
The house has three bedrooms and our bonus room; allowing 10 guests to sleep comfortably. There are two bathrooms. The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower, for easy access, and heated floors. The upstairs bathroom has a jetted tub for relaxing after a busy day of shopping and having fun at the beach! The kitchen is large with an open floor plan, air fryer, microwave, and coffee maker. The game room has many board games for family fun (and some adult ones too)! Outside of the house you will find a beautiful large deck with a charming L-shaped patio couch. The Blu Shutter Beach House has plenty of room to play, make memories, and relax.

Came here on a trip with family and friends. Had 8 adults and 3 year old. Good sized kitchen (larger than expected based on pictures) and plenty of room to spread out. Was unusually warm for October so was able to take advantage of the lake and beach which is just across the road. It is a major/busy road. Nice outdoor seating and large fire pit.

Clean room and helpful host. One thing to note is that I had no cell reception, so it was challenging to communicate and receive check in code for the front door. Luckily, the owner texted me and it came through, but even on the house wifi I wasn't having much luck accessing the VRBO website. We enjoyed our stay and had what we needed.

Great Location

The location of this property was great for our trip. Thie house has its own unique charm. We all loved the park right across the street from us. It was perfect for spending the day on the beach. Dianna is a top notch host!

We came for four days to enjoy the beach and shopping. The location was quiet and peaceful with a beach right across the road. Also close enough to nearby towns. Dianna was so responsive as the host and always answered us right away. The house was so clean. Plenty of space and items for us to use.

Great Lake Stay!

Dianna’s place was perfect for our Thursday-Sunday family visit! Hagar Park is directly across the road with a playground and quiet beach access. Close to wineries and St. Joseph/South Haven attractions. The kitchen was well-stocked, there were an abundance of games, beach accessories, and a lovely yard/deck area for relaxing. Beds were super comfortable and we had everything we needed for a great getaway. It was my birthday and Dianna even put up happy birthday banners. Blue Shutter Beach House is a perfect getaway and the best value around. I hope to stay again.

Fun and Friendly

Our robotics team stayed here during a weekend competition. Diana’s house was exactly as we had expected and suited our needs. Diana was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Perfect beach access

The location is amazing for anyone wanting to spend all their time at the beach; its literally right across the road with less than a 5 minute walk to put your toes in the sand. The house was perfect for our group with plenty of beds, bathrooms, and space for 5 adults and two kids. I know the water was a concern for several past renters, but for anyone who is familiar with well water, the house is perfectly normal and the addition of a jug water dispenser in the kitchen is a major plus. Diana, the owner is really easy to work with and perfectly reasonable in her requests/house rules.

First Family Vacation 2025

We had 10 family members and everyone had a bed to sleep in and having two bathrooms was a must ! The Kitchen is nice size with everything you need to prepare food and cook. It was nice having an outside grill as well.Kyger park was nice for the kids and shaded, The Beach was perfect and it was not crowded , There were dogs but for the most part the owners were respectiful and picked up after them. The only down fall was the 90 plus stairsteps down to the beach after the park area.

Nice stay

Great stay within walking distance of a not crowded beach. Beds were very comfortable and house is well equipped. This is located on a rural highway which is kind of noisy when you are sitting on the deck, but it’s not noticeable inside the house. Use the water dispenser provided by the host as the tap water does have a sulfur smell. This is fairly secluded, and if you want to do things in town, you will have to drive, but that can be viewed as an asset rather than a detriment. The town of St. Joseph is close as is Coloma.

Wonderful visit

We had a great time. The house was perfectly clean and very close to the beach. I liked all of the notes around the house. The fun personality of the owner definitely came through. Would stay again.

What a find! We were staying for a girls weekend in South Haven but wanted to stay close to the beach. Dianna had everything we needed for a great stay. She was very communicative when we had questions and was so thoughtful! My personal favorite feature was the screened in porch, perfect spot for your morning coffee. Whether you are going on a girls trip or family vacation, this is the place! We cannot wait to come back. P.S. if you are NEEDING cell service and have AT&T or Verizon, just plan ahead and use the WiFi. It was refreshing not to have service 24/7, but again, there is WiFi!!

Beautiful Fall Stay

We had a wonderful weekend here! Great for families with kids, just a short walk across the street to a park with a playground and the beach! There are a lot of fun fall things in this area too. Took a 15 min drive to Jollay Orchards for apple picking and fall activities too. Would highly recommend!

Great beach vacation

This property was conveniently located across the street from a nice beach that we enjoyed almost every day. It is close to Coloma which offered a nice movie theater and a nice restaurant. It is also close to wineries and breweries in the area. It was perfect for our stay with our Son and his family.

Spectacular stay

We had the luxury of being able to stay at this house for 3 days and each day was amazing. With a quick walk across the street is a beach, board games for the late nights, and a kitchen fully loaded with almost everything you need for cooking. Highly recommend to anyone because of the location and price.

What a cute little getaway! Looks like a cute little farm lakehouse with quite a bit of yard for yard games. Tons of beds for sleeping in, little notes for how to use things, and Dianna the host is super sweet!

Great memories

The house was charming and suited our needs well. We loved the beautiful surroundings, close proximity and access to Lake Michigan, walks on the beach enjoying beautiful sunsets, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and a bike ride to Paw paw lake. We were here for a family wedding and it was a great place for us to stay together. Dianna was easy to reach for any questions and very accommodating. We had a wonderful stay.
