Not As Listed, Unclean, No Support from Mgmt
This home is listed as a smoke-free home. As soon as we entered the home, the smell of smoke (cigarette/pot/vape) was overwhelming. We contacted mgmt immediately. They did not help to resolve the issues. It smelled like there had been a huge party there the night before. Around the kitchen, it smelled like whiskey had been spilled and not cleaned up. The mgmt company was aware of the status of the home before we checked in, but did not inform us, which would have given us the option to stay elsewhere. By the time we arrived, after an 8 hour drive, there was no availability at other rentals or hotels (that would allow a dog). It appeared they had tried to mask the odors large amounts of carpet freshener on the rugs. This made it worse, created a strong chemical smell, which gave us headaches and caused issues with our small dog, who has allergies and other medical issues.
We contacted the mgmt company often, but the issues were not resolved and they lacked understanding or any level of care with the situation and how it affected our attempt at a vacation. We went to visit our daughter who is at USC to celebrate my birthday. We got this place because it has extra bedrooms and we planned for her to stay with us. She visited for a few hours. After spending time in the family room, she said it smelled like pot in the house. She went back to her dorm that night and was sick (vomiting) through the night and the next 2 days. Several attempts to contact mgmt.
