Stunning location. Was hoping to visit the gardens but there was a private function taking place, which was a shame. Felt well looked after with cases taken to the room and an offer of valet parking. Swimming pool complex with jacuzzi and sauna and gym was good. Breakfast excellent. A very pleasant stay.

The staff was very friendly. They went above and beyond for our stay. My kids had special gifts left just for them on their beds along with magical notes from fairies. You'll have to make a reservation for a restaurant to be able to go into the castle. Be sure to do this as the experience is well worth it!! Also, highly recommend the School of Falconry Hawk Walk. It was my 8yo's favorite thing we did in Ireland.

Exquisite hotel beautifully situated on the Ashford Castle estate property. The original Lodge was significantly expanded in the back with an elegant courtyard surrounded on all three sides by large attractive and very comfortable rooms. The entire property is perfectly maintained with a mix of original flair and contemporary art with the original building looking out onto a gorgeous view of the Loch. The food selection at the restaurant was limited but delicious. At least the steak and the market fish were. Service was also top notch. We took the walking tour of the forest on the castle property which also was quite lovely. All this for a very reasonable price, which included breakfast. Highly recommend staying here. I wish we had known and had more time to stay.

The staff are first class. From the porter to the bar staff. Very welcoming. Room was excellent. The afternoon tea at the castle was one of the best I've enjoyed I hope one day I can come back.

Fabulous property…. Everything top notch. Plenty of activities on the property from bike riding, golf, trap shooting, falconry, etc.. We stayed in Ashford Lodge which was just fine… you need a dinner / lunch reservation to get into the castle.

From the greeting of the traditionally dressed front gate sentry there is something special about this incredible property. The service is impeccable and the staff were all warm and welcoming. Open arrival your car is valet as you won’t need it during your stay. Although the grounds are walkable they offer door to door van service between the Lodge and the Castle as well as other locations within the gates. Although a stay in the Lodge does not afford you access to the inside of the Castle, dinner reservations at one of the restaurants will allow you to view the main areas as well as the beautiful bar area. We ate at the Dungeon and the food and service was excellent. We booked the boat tour of the harbor which gives you a great waterfront view of the Castle. The two brothers that captain the boat were unbelievably knowledgeable of the history surrounding the Castle. My wife indulged herself in the Castle Spa and raved about the service. The highlight of my stay was Falconry School. It is onsite and gives you a chance to walk through the grounds while your new bird friend lands on your gloved hand whenever you extend your arm. This was a bucket list item that I didn’t even know that I had! Ashford Lodge provides a peaceful oasis away from the busy tourist attractions.
