Host was a good communicator but he down played my “ direct access “ -as shown in the listing. One of the reasons I booked this particular house was for the oceanfront AND direct beach access. There is a wooden walkway and steps leading to the beach. It appears to us as though the winter winds covered half the steps and caused a 5-6 foot dune at the top of the steps making it impossible to climb over carrying beach chairs or an umbrella or a cooler. On the beach side -again-the top of the stairs were covered in sand and the dune at the top of the stairs was impassable by foot unless you are very athletic All of the other houses had cleared their steps or were in the process of clearing them. When I pointed this out to the host he said he would change the listing and we could walk down to access the beach by the public access walkway. Indeed he did change the listing to if you have “ mobility issues “ you may not be able to use the walkway. I have two photos showing the steps. One -house to the beach clearly showing the sand and the dune -one from the top of the dune -after my husband climbed it-looking down to beach -showing how much sand is covering the steps.Also the dryer works but has no handle on the door so once you close it you must find an alternate way to pry open the door. We did find the house clean and neat. The appliances and bathrooms were older but useable. The furniture is new and the flooring appears new also. The location on the beach was beautiful.
