Great house that falls short of expectations somewhat
The location of the house is fantastic. You have quick and easy access to a semi-private beach that has plenty of sand and waves for fun in the sun. We rented chairs and umbrellas from a third party company, which I'd highly recommend — they set everything up in the mornings and take them down in the evenings, per city regulations.
The pool is on par with other houses in the area, small but adequate. It's not going to blow you away, but it gets the job done. You probably won't even use the tiki bar, because it's pretty gross — to the point where we didn't touch the sink or mini fridge in there.
The home's layout is fantastic. Tons of bedrooms and huge living areas made hosting 18 of us as easy as can be.
However, the cleanliness and functionality of the house's amenities left MUCH to be desired. Several of the door locks didn't work. The HVAC was impossible to manipulate. Some of the lights were out — including the pool lights, so no night swimming at all. It looked as though some areas hadn't been cleaned or swept at all before we got there, given all the cobwebs and general dirtiness.
Also, when we opened the washer for the first time, a tub full of water poured out. We contacted Vacasa, but they never sent anyone out to look at it. We cleaned it up, but by the end of the week, it was full of water again even though we never ran it once. So we had limited laundry capabilities, which, for a group of 18 for 7 days, was a problem.
Tons of potential, not fully realized.
