The Starfish is a lovely unit, and mostly is as pictured other than the sofa and rugs are very worn. Unfortunately,we arrived to a horrible smell of what we can only describe as amonia or urine in the unit. We immediately alerted management and someone came promptly and agreed that there was a "smell." She also removed a kitchen rug that was wet. We were told someone would be in touch soon. We waited to unpack and sat outside unsure of what solutions were to be offered...finally someone arrived with an air purifier unit and a diffuser. While this gesture was appreciated, the air purifier did not help. We decided to find our suits and head to the beach for the evening-trying to stay out of the unit. I missed a call-while at the beach- shortly after 7:30 that evening to check in. That evening we also discovered a blood stain on the master bed comforter. The next day we reported the dishwasher wasn't working and (minor issue) the hairdryer started burning/smoking when we tried to use it. We gather someone came and worked on the dishwasher as our dishes were clean we we returned the second day. I gave the hairdryer to the receptionist upon checkout. This review could have easily been 5 of 5 stars-the unit has so much potential- but the overwhelming, persistent smell clouded our entire stay. We realize toddlers have accidents and/or pets stay without permission but we strongly feel much more could've and should've been done regarding this issue. If we return to CS, it will not be to stay in The Starfish.
