It's the last motel before the edge of the map runs out. It looks a little rough but it was a fine stay. Staff was polite and helpful. Just booked another stay.

Don’t let the outside fool you! We were in room 101 and it was probably the cleanest room we have stayed in along the coast in a long time. No mold , no dingy smell no sand on the floor from previous guests. Will definitely stay again.

I like this place a lot! If you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is clean and has a very nice shower and very nice beds very close to the beach this is the place to go! It’s not painted well and looks low quality but for the price range I think it is fantastic. I have stayed here twice and will come back. The staff is very very nice!

If you’re looking for an affordable place to sleep and have a hot shower near the Padre Island National Seashore this is a great place. It’s not fancy but the air conditioning was ice cold and the rooms are clean and equipped with microwaves and refrigerators. There are several food options around and it’s minutes from the entrance to the national seashore. The owners were friendly also.

Fantastic. Check in and check out was crazy fast. the room was big and clean (with a full sized fridge!) and the location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Will absolutely be coming back next time we head out that way.

This was a very clean motel. The towels could use an upgrade but that’s my only complaint. I like the convenience of being close to Malaquite Beaxh and the many dining options near by. No blow dryers so bring your own. Definitely will be booking here again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was courteous and helpful throughout my stay. We had a really good stay at Monterrey. The staff was kind, brought in new towels, emptied the trash and cleaned the floors each morning (HUGE thank you since sand gets EVERYWHERE!). The beds were comfortable with soft pillows so we slept well. Our only issues was the water pressure was not great so showering took a long time but at least we got clean, lol. Also, the pictures show full sized fridges but they're mini fridges. I packed meals for our stay so had to do some tetris action to make it work. So heads up there. All in all, my family and I had a wondeful stay and would stay again! Thank you Monterrey 😊

10 minute walk to the beach/simple but clean motel

Friendly service, staff was more than accommodating to my very late check in and location provided a quick and easy 10 minute walk to the beach. Hotel was very straightforward and exactly what I was looking for in terms of quick and easy convenience. The hotel was also very quiet, even during the day, which I appreciated. Great staff and would stay here again!

The buildings are old, room smelled musty, the ac was noisy, the front door would stick ( the key and the door on the frame), the wifi was weak, the tv was messed up, and there was only 1 hand towel in bathroom. The man that checked us in was friendly and helpful at least.

run down needed updated. But they did give us a room that was remodeled and clean. I see that the property had a new roof..windows..air conditioner.. and our room was freshly painted and ok. But the original room was very unacceptable. I realize that it is a work in progess. And when finished it should be nice.

Old building but clean room, king size bed was hard. Door lock jams so it takes many tries to unlock to get out. Gap at top of door so bugs crawl inside. Close to beach so you can hear the ocean.

The tv didn’t work. The microwave didn’t work properly. The bathroom door had a crack in it. The sink had a visible crack in the bowl. Only provided shampoo and bars of soap. Only 2 sets of towels for a room with enough sleeping space for 6! The “kitchen” area was really tight. There was construction going on which could cause someone to run over a nail or screw (which our neighbor ended up doing and warning us about).
