We recently rented a home (100 Peppervine Lane) in the Palmilla Beach Resort & Golf Community at Port Aransas for a 3-night stay. The home we rented was attractive and clean, beach access was a snap, and the amenities of the community were nice. However, we were very disappointed with the responsiveness of the property management company, Vacasa. On the second morning of our stay, we informed the on-site Vacasa rep that the electrical outlets on the kitchen counter and island were not working. The GFI would not reset, meaning the circuit breaker was apparently thrown, but we could not access the breaker box in the locked garage. In addition, the knob to operate the gas oven was missing, so we could not use the oven to prepare meals we had brought with us for our stay. The Vacasa rep said they would send someone over to check on these issues, but that never happened. We received a text from another Vecasa rep and spoke to the on-site rep two more times. We were told each time that someone would be there shortly to check on these issues. Both of these issues could have been resolved in less than 5 minutes if Vacasa had simply followed through. Vacasa definitely did not earn the fee they collect from their property owner’s rental income in this instance. If I owned a property at this resort, I would demand better service from the property management company. As for us, we will look at other properties like Cinnamon Shore just down the road before we book another stay at Palmilla Beach Resort. Upscale properties charging high-end rates shouldn’t tolerate 1-star service from the management company.
