Wonderful first visit to Palmilla!

This was our first time visiting and staying at Palmilla! The resort and all of the amenities far exceeded our expectations, we loved it! All of the staff we interacted with were so friendly. The house itself was a good size for our family of 4, just enough room! The one big critique was the combo washer/dryer. It took almost 5 hours to do a load and that was extremely frustrating. That would definitely be a deal breaker for our next visit to Palmilla. Overall, we loved our stay and can’t wait to come back to Palmilla again!

Family Fun

My husband and I took our 6 month old and almost 3 year old daughters to the beach for the first time. The house is very pretty and location was FABULOUS, you are easily walking distance to both pools and the beach (even with young kiddos) which was amazing! It was nice being on the end unit so our older daughter could run around with the garden hose in the lot next to the house and it had a nice front porch to hang out on. I would say the house was tight for us 4 with the baby and toddler gear. I would not recommend this house with kids in pack and plays as the rooms are very very snug and it was difficult to fit them. Additionally, there is no bath tub so that presented challenges as well. My husband and I kept saying the house would be great for older kids or an adults/couples getaway. Truly it was beautiful and so nice! We made it work with the kids but again just a bit snug - we usually stick pack and plays in closets or bathrooms or next to the bed but it all BARELY fit. We had an absolutely amazing time and the house was cool and well noise insulated, bed was also comfy. Down side to port A was the mosquitos so bring bug spray! My main critique of the house was that it does not have a washer AND dryer - it’s has a combo washer/dryer and it takes 3 hours to wash and about 3 hours to dry so don’t expect to be able to wash and reuse clothes or towels! I absolutely hated it, honestly would be a deal breaker for me next time. I like to wash my beach towels and suits but the washer even in quick wash is 2.5 hours and since it’s a combo it steam drys. It took me about 5 hours to get anything dry since I would have to run it twice. It’s so odd because the area with the combo is clearly made for a stackable washer and dryer. The front porch is facing afternoon sun so that is unfortunate because it’s hot and very sunny if you want to relax for a beverage or meal on the front porch but it does have a great view for sunsets. Additionally, there are zero instructions on how to access the pool or maps of the property to show where everything is at provided. You have to go to guest services to get wristbands and a map, it would be nice if those were just there when you arrived. Beach access on the road is literally at the property so you could drive the car right onto the beach or walk, don’t waste your money on a golf cart. Also there is almost no shaded spots at the pools unless you purchase a cabana so just keep that in mind. Overall really nice.

Good for 2 couples or family with a couple of kids

Place was very clean. Overall property was nice. Good pools, restaurants. While it says it sleeps 6, we had 6 and it was very tight. There’s no real kitchen table (it’s just the island). Not a lot of cooking items and dishes because the kitchen is small. Upstairs bathrooms don’t have counters or real mirrors. Rooms are very small so no room for blow up mattresses or pack and plays. The washer/dryer is a deal breaker and the reason I wouldn’t stay here again. It took 10 hours to wash 3 towels. The owners should seriously invest in a stackable because there is room.
