Top Courthouse-Collins Settlement Hotel Reviews

Best Western Plus Bridgeport Inn

10/10 Excellent

"Good breakfast"

Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sutton Flatwoods

8/10 Good

"If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with nature views, comfortable rooms, and a relaxing outdoor area, this hotel is a solid choice. I would stay here again. --- If you want, I can also write a shorter version, a more formal version, or a more playful version depending on where you plan to post it — just tap short review, formal review, or playful review."

Just minutes from Stonewall Jackson Lake Resort. Boat ramp 1/4 mile away

8/10 Good

"This was a rustic hunter's cabin with a loft and several beds. The 1 bathroom and 2 leather sofas were downstairs, so you needed to stay downstairs if you use the bathroom nightly. Trash cans outside were full, so brought one bag home with us. Good instructions as to TV, Wifi, and heater. Gas Grill (with gas) and charcoal on back porch, however charcoal would not light without fluid even though it was supposed to be self lighting charcoal. Cornhole outside which was fun. All amenities except food and coffee where there. so didn't need to bring anything. A truly pleasant stay."

Log Cabin Stonewall Jackson Retreat

10/10 Excellent

"This cozy little cabin by the lake was very easy to find, very well maintained and the host was very communicative and pleasant. There was a well stocked kitchen, ample towels and linens and a water dispenser for drinking water. The AC worked very well and kept the cabin cool in the heat. The area is remote, so there is limited internet and cell service, but sufficient to make calls and sometimes send texts. (But isn’t that the point of getting away anyway?) A caution that the driveway is rather steep and has a U turn at the top. There are several spots for parking a boat, but if you have a big truck and long boat it’s a bit of a tight squeeze. If you are fishing there are tons of opportunities - the Stonewall Jackson Lake launch is only a couple of miles away, and there are three more large lakes close by: Burnsville, Sutton and Summersville. All of them produced - bass (smallmouth and largemouth), bluegill, a few perch and crappie. We were focused on bass, but understand there are also walleye, musky and catfish!"
