    Tucked among the tall pines just outside of Custer, this inviting 3-bedroom, 2-bath vacation home offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature—without sacrificing convenience. Set on a quiet, tree-filled property, the home provides a sense of privacy and serenity, where deer, wild turkey, and other local wildlife are often seen wandering through the area.

    Inside, the home features a warm, comfortable design with an open-concept living space, a fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of room for families or small groups to relax. Large windows let in natural light and showcase views of the surrounding pines. With three well-appointed bedrooms and two full bathrooms, everyone has space to unwind after a day of exploring the Black Hills.

    Step outside onto the private deck to enjoy your morning coffee or evening meal in the fresh mountain air. After a day of adventure, soak in the hot tub under the open sky—perfect for relaxing while taking in the peaceful surroundings and star-filled nights.

    The home also includes a convenient two-car garage, ideal for protecting your vehicles from the elements and giving you extra space for gear after a day of hiking or sightseeing.

    Despite its tranquil setting, the home is just minutes from downtown Custer, where you'll find restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Popular destinations like Custer State Park, scenic drives, and hiking trails are all within easy reach, making this the perfect home base for your Black Hills getaway.

Great place for the family! The kitchen was fully stocked with updated appliances, and everything was ready for a comfortable stay. The drive to Mt. Rushmore was only about 30 minutes from the house. If you need groceries, the nearest Walmart is in Rapid City, about a 45-minute to one-hour drive away. One of the highlights of our stay was seeing a family of deer that lives nearby. It was amazing to watch them roam freely around the property. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Given that there were no prior reviews for this listing, you can imagine how hesitant I was about coming into Custer. Fortunately, this property turned out to be everything we could have wanted and more. It's located right in the middle of all the Black Hills attractions while not being isolated (just a few minutes from downtown Custer). The viewing balcony is perfect for watching wildlife cross through, and the hot tub is a bonus. I will say, we visited in early August, and the bees and flies were intense due to the drought, so bring some repellent and fly swatters just in case. Also, the water pressure can be inconsistent at times, so be prepared for that, as well as sharing the road with lots of motorcycles from the Sturgis Rally. If you want to escape the tourist crowds and mediocre restaurants, the best places to eat are The Mt. Rushmore Brewing Co., The Custer Wolf, Hjem A.M, Skogen, and The Purple Pie Place (which we visited every evening). Overall, this property is well-managed, well-maintained, and a hidden gem in the area. Thanks, Kathleen!
