Mighty Oaks Retreat · 1904 House on 352 Acres

Mighty Oaks Retreat is in the open country near D'Hanis, a short drive from Hondo. The property covers 352 acres with a seasonal pond, and miles of quiet country roads run through the surrounding land, good for a drive or a motorcycle ride.



The house was built in 1904 and has been restored with care. The living room has a couch, two chairs, a wood-burning fireplace and a Roku TV, and a small alcove off it works as a reading nook or a place for kids to play. The kitchen is built around a wood-topped island with stools, with an oven, a range, a microwave, a toaster and both regular and K-cup coffee makers. There are two bedrooms, one of them detached, plus a sunroom with a queen pull-out couch, a small dining table and its own mini-split. Both bathrooms have vintage tubs, and the main bath has a shower as well. Central air and heat, ceiling fans, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, good cell coverage and a washer and dryer are all here.



Behind the house, country rockers sit under the trees. A shaded veranda has a conversation pit for a larger group, and there is a hot tub, a charcoal grill and a fire pit. The acreage is open for hiking, bird and wildlife watching, and stargazing.
