JonBie Maison Sunrise Sunsetter

Join us on bridgeless Daufuskie Island for an unforgettable vacation experience. You'll need to make arrangements to reach us by boat and you'll need grounds transportation to the Sunrise Sunsetter (we'll help you with these arrangements with info for options) and once you arrive let the world slip away.

Perfect accommodations for family and friends with views of sunrise over the Atlantic and sunsets over a low country marsh. Have your camera ready for the Egrets and Storks and watch for the Eagles too. Your every need is met with a well stocked kitchen, all linens including beach towels, and high speed internet.

Information for reserving carts at discounted rate will be provided at booking. GAS CARTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL JONBIE COTTAGES & VILLAS and Carts are NOT to be used for hauling luggage, groceries, coolers, etc.

Beach chairs are waiting for you.

Outdoor sanctuary overlooking the marsh includes seating for everyone with propane grill at the ready.

This cottage was wonderful. We stayed there with my mom, sister’s family and my children. We weren’t crowded at all with 5 adults and 5 children. Check in/out was easy. I probably asked too many questions of the owners and they were very responsive and helpful.

Nice house but very noisy

We arrived to a well equipped house that was clean and comfortable. We did not know these houses are connected to others, they are not stand alone cottages. There was construction work being done to the house connected to ours. At 7AM they started work and we were all woken up to loud saws, hammering, banging that was very loud. We did not receive much response from the management company. For such a quiet, relaxed vibe on the island, this was really disruptive to our time we spent in the house. We really enjoyed the beach which is closeby and the beautiful surroundings of birds and wildlife.

Excellent - Highly Recommend

We were a party of 9 adults on the island for 9 days. When we 1st pulled up to the property I was a bit concerned about the size from the outside, but once we were inside that was no longer a question. The place is incredible! Well maintained, clean, great layout for such a large group, and incredibly spacious. Slept 9 comfortably and we all had plenty of space. Everything was exactly as advertised and we had no issues at all with anything not working. Washer and dryer were very nice to have. Everything…TV’s, showers, fridge, coffee pot, stove, oven, plumbing, lights, furniture, beds, A/C, all of it was perfect for our stay. The host (Tammy with JonBie) was incredible! Communication was awesome and she was very responsive when I needed to reach out a couple of times. The included 6 person golf cart was a great add and we had no issues with it whatsoever. I would rate the property and the hosts a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend anyone considering staying with JonBie put them at the top of your list. We would absolutely stay with them again when we come back to the island.

Work Trip

We were a team of 6 coworkers. This property was so much more spacious and beautiful than the pictures did it justice! It came with a 6 seater golf cart, beautiful screened in porch, paddle boards, and everything you could need for the beach including a wagon to pull it all. Only negative was it is at the far end of the island in the Melrose section, you would be riding at least a mile to get to any shopping or museums on the island, the golf cart was a blessing! Be aware that the property is located in an area with several other homes quite a few of which are boreded up due to weather and abandonment but this home was beautiful. The host was outstanding answering all our questions about getting onto the island however we had a water main break in the neighborhood and were without power and didn't hear back once there but no big deal the island quickly restored. The bicycles rented with the house had some significant wear and tear one had a flat tire but we preferred the golf cart with the property being a distance away. Overall excellent stay would highly recommend!

Great house - well equipped

Loved the house and we have always loved the location at Melrose. Having 4 bedrooms with each having own full bathroom was great for the entire family. Place well equipped and above the standard short term rental experience we have. Great hosts and quick responses to any questions. Great family stay

The property had a great location with wonderful views. The property manager is nearby and everything was so well maintained. The island is laidback and quiet with locals making it a truly wonderful experience. The local wine is lovely, the soap is a definite must have and the Daufuskie Life group made it such an easy time with bikes and transport. I recommend Jonbie Maison and Daufuskie to anyone.

I cannot say enough about Daufuskie Island! It was simply amazing. The house was wonderful. It was so much bigger than I could have imagined. The amenities were spot on! We were supplied with beach chairs, towels, a golf cart and bikes to accommodate everyone in our party. When I message the property managers about needed extra bikes they were at the door swiftly. I will definitely being going back and staying with Jonbie Maison!!!! Best vacation!

Comfy beds, comfy cottage!

We enjoyed our stay this past week. The beds were extremely comfortable, which is a huge deal for my husband and myself. Having never been to Daufuskie or rented a property there we weren't sure what to expect. It was different from anything we've ever rented before. The cottage was very pretty I wasn't aware that you do share a wall with other tenants. Found that one side is called a cottage and the other a villa. Also, there is no privacy in the backyard at all. The homes are all open in the back to each other almost in kind of a horseshoe shape. So you see whatever is happening around you. We will for sure visit again, the home was very comfortable for our family! I loved that eveyone had their own bathroom!!!

We had the best time making Melrose on the Beach our home away from home while we explored the magic of Daufuskie Island with our family, friends, and our pup. We had a wonderful stay at the house. Location is very nice because of the proximity to the beach. Host was extremely helpful during and before our stay to make sure we had all of our accommodations. Everyone had a great time and we are excited to get back to the island again soon!

A Perfect location for our Girls weekend

A wonderful long weekend with the girls! A great place with tons of room! The bedrooms are large and we each had our own bathrooms. Loved the huge windows for the view and the quiet back porch. Sunrise comes up in the front and sunset in the back over the marsh. You can see the beach and ocean from the front of the unit - it’s a very quick walk to get you toes in the sand. Total tranquility!
