Great stay for 2!
My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and it was a great escape. There are neighbors but you have your privacy still. The area was nice and quiet - no cell service but we were able to use the provided wifi when we needed with our smart phones. The cabin is a perfect size for 2 or a small, young family. It was basically one large space with a bathroom as the only separated room. It was SUPER CLEAN. It has everything you needed. I felt that the owners went above and beyond to provide things you may need on your stay. There was plenty of linens and towels but also pots, pans, seasonings, coffee, tea, sugar, dish detergent, etc. While being "unplugged" a bit, you also had plenty of upgraded features to help you feel at home. The wifi was great. There was a super large flatscreen TV with roku. Stainless steal appliances and sink, newer washer and dryer, updated bathroom. The hot tub was a huge plus. It was super nice, maybe new? But it was great to relax in. It was very clean - just like the rest of the cabin. Highly recommended!

Great overall weekend getaway, everything you could possibly need and one spot was recently updated. Really enjoyed our time in the hot tub and listening to the river couldn’t have asked for more prepared and ideal getaway.

Awesome, peaceful stay
Clean, cozy, charming stay for our anniversary. We were even able to bring our large dogs because the place is pet friendly, but you wouldn’t know it because how pristine everything is.

Great weekend get away.
I booked the cabin for her birthday weekend. We had a great time. Screen shot of the lock box code before you go. There is absolutely no cell service in the valley to access VRBO. There are a couple cabins nearby, but privacy was not a problem. There is shrubbery on the back deck to provide privacy while you’re in the hot tub. The cabin was very cozy. Definitely would book again.

Outside lights on steps didnt work, back deck lights barely worked, hot tub didnt have enough water to cover the jets so we didnt use it. Cleaning fee is to high when you have to clean before u leave.

Just the two of us and what a location. The creek is so nice, fire by the water, excluded location but still a short drive to Boone. The place is small but very charming, perfect for a romantic trip.

Great view, relaxing stay.
We love the Deep Gap area and have stayed at the neighbors before (the white home). Wanted something small for just my husband and I. The studio-style cabin was perfect for the two of us. It had everything we needed. The hot tub and relaxing sounds from the creek were my favorite part. We were able to enjoy the fire by the creek on our last night. Though it was chilly, I could have stayed there all night! On check out day, the dump was closed and it was very rainy. We were not able to take out our own trash (it was very little- not even a full bag). We left it for the house keeper with a small tip as suggested if we were unable to take the trash out. We enjoyed the stay and hope to come back.

Great little cabin, but just one thing
We loved our stay at this cabin. Elk Creek is absolutely beautiful, and the property has some great views. This really is a breathtaking location. The grounds keepers were very friendly and helpful! The only thing I have to say is there are 2 other cabins very close by. One is about 75 feet away. The other across the creek looks right into the back of this cabin. We do plan on coming back, but we will be booking the other cabin on this property due to it having a little bit more privacy.

Peaceful Cabin by the Stream
This cabin was the perfect size for just the 2 of us. It was very clean. The back deck and fire pit were our favorite areas. The stream provided a peaceful background sound to relax and unwind. There is no cell service, but Wi-Fi works pretty well so it was the perfect place to unplug for a week. Brand new hot tub and grill on the back deck! We loved the close proximity to Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. The cabin next door, which is owned by the same person, is very close! (About 75 feet porch to porch). And the house across the stream has a direct view of the deck and hot tub. The refrigerator/freezer has a leak that we had to clean 4 times while we were there. We did use the grill which was nice and they brought us a new propane tank during our stay. The stove top burner doesn’t get hot unless it’s on high, making it difficult to cook on. No place to hang clothes so you have to live out of the suitcase.

Lovely area; needs repairs
We rented the one room cabin for a quite get away. My husband loves to fly fish. The photo appeared to be remote. We took our old dog with us. It was not remote. The stream is right behind the cabin. There was another cabin right beside of the cabin we rented. They wondered in our yard and in the creek. They hated dogs! When we travel to cabins we love to grill. The tanks were empty and I could not change them, so we did not use it. The pilot light would not come on in tbd fire place. The stove id difficult to operate. The couch is actually a sleeper. It is so uncomfortable you cannot sit on it. The bed is comfortable and there is a nice deck ( where we spent all of our time). We did not use the hot tub. So, while we enjoyed the beautiful area, we were disappointed. Cars fly around the mountain making it difficult to walk.

Hello , my name is Nancy I am the owner . I am currently staying at the cabin . Upon arrival I have found both propane tanks full & working properly . I am currently using the fireplace as it is quite chilly with no problems .. The futon mattress was in place and quite comfortable as well . I do wish you would have called either myself or housekeeping as our numbers are on a printed sheets throughout the cabin during your stay to assist you with your difficulties. As far as the proximity of the other cabin it is clearly stated in my description of the property that there is another cabin on the same stream . I am sorry about the folks not caring for your dog , I Myself am a dog lover . I have just had the kitchen appliances replaced with brand new full size stainless steel ones which are working beautifully. I do hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a Blessed New Year .

Lovely Respite
Loved our stay at this perfect small cabin. Cabin was thoughtfully stocked with all things we would need for a long weekend -- even pet friendly blankets for our dog! We enjoyed the creek, the hot tub, warming up by the fireplace in the evening. It was a perfect place for us to relax and unwind for a few days. Boone is a quick drive -20 mins - and Food Lion for groceries is maybe 15 mins. We would very much love to stay at this lovely cabin again.

peace, serenity and rest
We both had a rough 3 - 4 years with no real vacation and a lot of hard work. Mostly stayed at the cabin with less than two days exploring the area. Everything we needed was in the homey well equipped cabin. The beauty and the serenity of the creek flowing through the mountains was just what we needed. We would love to see it in every season and with our family...maybe sometime renting both cabins.

Needs help
Nice location. However, two major drawbacks: The only closet, every cabinet and chest was stuffed to maximum leaving absolutely no space to hang or store an item. We were forced to live out of our suitcases the entire stay The stove burners only worked on HIGH… when the worked at all. Extremely disappointing because one of our favorite pastimes staying in the mountains is cooking big delicious country breakfasts and wonderful dinners. This certainly placed a damper on our stay We are in touch with The property manager, Jackie Bangos regarding compensation

Exceeded Expectations
Perfect for a couple's get away. The pictures do not show the backyard which we loved the most. There is a picnic table and 2 chairs right by that beautiful creek. We spent every morning & evening down there. Just a 25 minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway which is a must do. We loved our stay.

Fun Weekend Getaway
Me & my wife stayed here for a quick weekend getaway and it did not disappoint! This quaint little cabin was perfect, we especially enjoyed fishing in the stream in the back or relaxing in the hot tub. We had a couple of takeaways that we wish could be fixed for the next person or next time we visit: 1. We noticed on the first night that water from the freezer was leaking into our refrigerator, we weren’t sure how that was happening. 2. The sink detachable hose would not retract back, so it hung there for the weekend. 3. We were unsure if this was a smoke free cabin or not, but once we walked in for the first time we could tell the previous inhabitants smoked in and outside of the property. 4. In the description it states that the water may taste funny due to it coming from a well, but we notified that the bathroom water (shower, washing hands) smelled burnt/rotten smell that was pretty pungent. 5. The toilet chain detached or was broken, and we could not reattach it ourselves, so we had to reach in and pull the change manually to flush the toilet. Besides these hiccups, we had a great time!

Great retreat
We had a great weekend. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Hot tub was on point. Check in instructions could have been better given there is no cell service around the cabin. The cabin is not as private as it seems. One night we had fairly loud neighbors. Overall a great stay, would recommend.

I was looking for a cabin that would give me an experience of comfort with enough modern up grades to make my stay enjoyable, thus the wifi, satellite tv, and hot tub. The second I crossed the threshold I was entranced with the warmth of the cabins interior. Walking onto the back deck thrilled me to no end with the natural beauty of the landscape before me. There was just one issue and that was the hot tub. It was not ready for use until our last day there, but I want to give Debbie and her husband Edward my deepest thanks for taking care of it. They were the nicest people. They went above making sure it was perfect before they left. I must say that I probably had the TV on a total of 2 or 3 hours our entire stay. I was lulled to sleep every night by the sound of the rushing waters of the creek from the back of the cabin and soft tinkling of the wind chimes hanging from the front and back eaves. Our stay was truly a dream.

Perfect Weekend!
My husband and I have two young children and were in need of a peaceful, adult weekend with one another. This cabin was perfect! Very well maintained, beautiful setting, and clean! Only negative was the strong sulfer smell of the water. However, it wasn’t that big of a deal to us. We have already recommended this place to another couple!

You could hear the water rushing in the creek from inside the house, and it was so peaceful. The property is remote yet close enough to Boone if you need anything. A Day Dreamer’s Paradise!
Creekside is a wonderful place to wind down and relax, inside and out! A day dreamer’s paradise! I’d recommend bringing bottled water to drink, as the taste/smell of the water is distinct. I would(and have already) recommend this place to friends and family in a heartbeat.

Easy check in and nice little cabin situated on an amazing creek with little waterfall. Had an issue with the fireplace that was quickly resolved. About a 30 min drive to Boone. Road in was super bumpy, but easily passable, as long as you don’t get easily car sick :) we were surprised how much traffic was on the road given remote location. Not a traffic jam by any means, but there was road noise throughout the night, so for as far out as this is, I would have expected a more remote experience. The comments in the listing are accurate - the water has a strong sulfur odor and the cabin also smelled strongly of mothballs. The cabin was very clean. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not on when we arrived. Water was 40 degrees, so we didn’t bother trying to run it long enough to heat it. All in all, it’s a fine stay, as long as strong smells don’t bother you.

Fun honeymoon spot!
We had an amazing stay. One issue we had checking in was finding the address posted. We were a little lost because the gps did not take us to the house exactly and we were confused by the house next to it. We loved the coziness of the cabin. One down side was for some reason the water smelled really bad but hopefully that can be fixed. The water smelling bad made a stay a little worse than expected but it was over all a nice stay. I reach out to the property manager about a couple of things and got a swift reply and phone call which made the stay so much better knowing they truly wanted us to have a great experience.

My housekeeper realized that the filter in the Sulphur Eliminator filtration system I have had actually frozen just before your stay when the temperatures dropped below freezing. and it needed to be swapped out. Really cute cabin but disappointed in our experience
Really cute cabin with a relaxing creek surrounding the area, however it has a very strong mothball smell. We had to contact the housekeeper because the gas logs weren't working and we had no hot water until early afternoon of 2nd day there. The property information does tell you about it having well water, but the egg smell was intense. The stove top was also a challenge. Overall not satisfied with our experience.

Hello Ms.Sawyer, it’s Nancy Blalock the owner here responding to your review . I am very sad to hear that even after having full communication with you during your stay that you were still unhappy . I know that the temperatures hit the lowest they had ever been since the 1960’s and the pipes despite your efforts and our efforts to prevent them from freezing was something that no one could truly control . Edward my property manager left his wife & 3 small boys on Christmas Eve to do his very best to try to immediately rectify that situation for you . I’m sorry that you did not have water due to the freezing temperatures. I have consulted with my housekeepers as far as the mothball smell & they have shared with me that the mothballs are kept in a container in the basement as a deterrent to keep wildlife away . I am not sure how the container was opened to cause the odor , but they have assured me it was resealed & there is no mothball smell currently ;) . Again I am sorry if that was keeping you from enjoying my little piece of paradise . I Am very proud of my team up there as I’m sure you experienced while speaking to them as they assisted you during your stay . We do hope that you still enjoyed your time with us , even though it was an unexpected temperature situation and we wish you a Happy Healthy Holiday Season .

My husband and I had a wonderful, quiet stay. The atmosphere was so very relaxing. The road getting to the cabin was very windy and only gravel in some places. This is to be expected since it is in the mountains, but was stressful to navigate during a tropical storm. Other than that, our stay was absolutely perfect. I would stay there again for sure.

We had a great time. Great place to get away! Just know the wifi isn't great. Wasn't a problem for us at all! The creek out back is amazing! Loved that there was a screen door - we had it open constantly to listen to the creek and have fresh air.

Last minute cabin getaway!
Everything from the booking of the cabin until check out went smoothly. We enjoyed our stay so much, we tried to book an extra night; the cabin was already rented 😞 From the hot tub, fire pit, gas logs, every kitchen utensil imaginable , trout fishing in the backyard equals a perfect stay.
