Great stay

We loved our stay at this cabin. It felt very remote, and had amazing view. We enjoyed the hiking trails throughout the community, and the snacks/drinks provided by the host were such a thoughtful touch.

Amazing weekend under the stars

The view of the sunrise in the morning and in the evenings you can experience quite the starry night from the hot tub. There is plenty of seating, both inside and outside.

Thanksgiving at powder horn mountain

The cabin was wonderful & we will save it for next time for sure. The whole family enjoyed it, we really appreciated the kids toys that were available for our 2 year old daughter and niece and nephew! Plenty of games and activities to do inside when it got chilly. The kitchen was well stocked for our thanksgiving dinner needs. Thanks for having us!

Gorgeous View from the Cabin

We loved the cabin and the location. The comm3nts online were all accurate. While it is about 20 mins from Boone, everything is easily accessible and the stay was wonderful! Great cabin. We will certainly be back!

Clean, comfortable home with everything you need for a relaxing visit

Home was clean and exactly as stated on the listing. We used the pool, fitness room, and enjoyed time at the cabin playing games & grilling out. We would definitely come back!

Absolutely wonderful stay!

We truly loved our stay here! It is such a hidden gem and just boosts of privacy, peace & calm. We couldn't get enough of the view from the deck and spent hours out there each day grilling, enjoying the breeze, the mountain views & beautiful surroundings. The cabin had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is updated and was so nice for cooking meals with the beautiful views out of the windows. We will definitely come back here again!

HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED TO MAKE THIS BIRTHDAY TRIP FOR OUR 88 YEAR OLD MOM ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS ! SHE JUST LOVED THE DEER, SITTING ON THE DECK , WATCHING THE STARS AND THE MANY GAMES WE PLAYED .. SHE IS THE MASTER AT RUMMY ! .. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS HOUSE .. LAYOUT IS GREAT.. Hidden Gem in the Mountains

This cabin was just perfect for our party of 7. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. Our kiddos loved the bunk beds and basement room to get away and relax. The view of the stars at night was just beautiful. Although it is a little drive off the main road (approx 20 min) in the day it's is not bad. Us out of towners were a little intimidated at night but it's not a horrible drive. Overall we had an amazing time and even loved the day the fog came in. We felt like we were in the clouds. We also liked how much there is to do in the community itself like hiking and games in the community center. Book it you will not regret it!

A hidden Gem, perfect place to unwind

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the best stay at Star View cabin on Powderhorn Mountain. The area is remote, but close enough to Boone that it was not inconvenient. The cabin itself was in a beautiful setting, clean, appliances all worked well, and comfortable. The personalized basket for welcome was a really nice touch. Property management was very helpful and clear with check in instructions,directions to get there, helpful tips, and suggestions on things to do. Check out was clear and simple. The resort area itself was nice with ample amenities and really nice marked trails with different levels of difficulty. The people who live there are kind, welcoming, and love being there. All in all we had a wonderful stay and will not hesitate to recommend this cabin and Moonlight Property Management again. Thank you for helping us have a great time away!

Deep Gap Getaway

This property was great for my family of 5. Enough space for everyone to spread out and we loved that each bedroom had its own adjustable heater since some of us like it cooler /or warmer than others. I have stayed at many VRBOs over the years and I can state that this is one of the cleanest I have found by far. The kitchen was beautiful. The only requests I would make would be to have more dish towels available ( I hate wasting paper towels) and maybe invest in a cast iron pot for the gas stove top. The view was unbeatable and the beds were comfy. The clubhouse was also an awesome way for us to workout and wind down after a day of skiing with the table games provided. We even made smores at the first come first serve clubhouse fire pit. The trails by the campground were true hiking trails with some obstacles along the way and a beautiful creek flowing by. Would definitely stay again. And the year round residents we spoke to were warm and welcoming as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Our time was great the cabin was okay at best

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Firstly, I have been renting cabins yearly for over 15 years and I have never left a bad review yet. I know things happen and it did not ruin our time here but the stay was not the best. When we arrived at 8:30 pm and opened the door, we were hit with a dead animal smell. I immediately sent a text letting them know of the odor. No response. We looked everywhere for this dead animal ourselves. I sent a follow up text the next morning at 10:40am. They asked if they could come over to check it out, we said yes, we waiting around for hours, finally I jumped in the shower and my spouse took a nap. We received a text at 1:50pm stating they knocked for 10 mins but we did not answer and to let them know when they could come back. Maybe they did and we did not hear it but I responding within 5 mins saying they could come back that we were here waiting for them, instead of going into town. No response. I sent 5 texts with no response. The next morning after we left the cabin to come home, we got a text apologizing for them not having the ability to come back out. I cannot understand why they did not call or text while they said they were knocking. We could not use the downstairs AT ALL due to the smell and the kitchen/living was pretty bad. Luckily the smell did not make it to the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. Now, I know things happen, mice get in and die. We were not upset about that one bit. It was the lack of response and care that we spent a lot of money for this weekend to stay here and it smelled like a dead animal inside. Like gag worthy. Other than that the cabin was clean and the bed upstairs was comfortable. The hot tub was capped out on the temperature at 99 degrees which was okay during the day but not the temperature a hot tub should be when its 50 degrees outside ( normal temp is 102-103), we were cold in there which was disappointing. They never even offered some money back or anything to compensate for the dead animal smell we had to deal with all weekend.

My husband and I loved the room layout and of course, the hot tub was perfect with the mountain views were perfection. I’d highly recommend this cabin to any of my friends!

Wonderful Christmas!

The winding drive to get there seemed long but in reality, we were a short distance to Boone. As suggested, get your groceries and supplies before you get there! The cabin was very clean and was as described. The view was amazing. We had no problem staying warm and just enjoyed a lot of down time. Predicted icy weather cut our visit short by one day. If your trip has you staying during inclement weather, definitely be prepared. Thank you Susan for being such a wonderful host and we highly recommend a stay here.

A Great Experience

The cabin met all our needs and one was of the most child friendly places we have ever stayed as a family. We have 2 granddaughters and there were games and toys to occupy a five year old, and a playpen and high chair for a 9 month old. It was quiet and spacious and delivered everything advertised!
