We had a lovely time at the cottage and we loved the beautiful garden which was also enjoyed by our two collies. The heritage cottage is located at the end of a private road with accessible woods behind, ideal for dogs. An additional bonus is a large enclosed field just outside the garden which is used by local dog walkers also and is fully enclosed. The owner offers use of the whole garden in front and behind the cottage which is a very good size but not enclosed albeit the road is a fair way down the private track. The house and garden is much bigger than the photos shown which don’t do the property justice. In addition there is an enclosed area behind the house which has a table and chairs to sit out in the sun or cook on the Barbecue. It would be nice if this enclosed area extended to include part of the rear lawn for those with dogs. The property has an oil fired cooker but also a halogen hob in the kitchen and microwave, grill and electric combo. The property has wood burner in the bedroom but is fully central heated. Decorated to a high standard this is a comfortable house with good facilities. We met Richard the owner who is very nice and friendly. Located in Dobs Hill there is not much around other than a service station and convenience store at the end of the road but being relatively close to a major road it’s a good location to explore the area with a car and Chester is not far away. The Red Lion pub is a short distance away and serves good food. Overall we would recommend this house as one of the best places we have stayed. Note owner bakes a really good lemon drizzle cake !
