The property manager didn’t send check in info 3 days prior, nor 3 hours prior.. they sent it to us the day after our arrival. I’ve never experienced communication this bad. My email address and phone number were accessible by the property manager, as I received a reservation confirmation AND text message from them, however, they continue to blame VRBO for the error. When traveling from across the country, one wants to be sure they can trust they have a place to stay when they’ve reserved it in advance. This is not possible with Sherry the property manager as they will blame VRBO for communication issues and Sherry does not try to reach you using any other form of communication that they have on file.
Be prepared to stay somewhere else or knock on the doors around to find the homeowners. We were finally let in by the homeowner well after arrival at the check in time (the homeowners do not manage the property and said this has happened before where renters didn’t get the information from the property manager before check in time). Natalie and Eric are the homeowners and they’re very nice folks with great recommendations of what Golden has to offer. Plus they’re seasoned red rocks amphitheater goers so we got really great advice from Natalie about when to arrive and food to eat. You two need a new property manager!
The home is beautiful and so is the neighborhood. Definitely stay in Golden, just *find a different place to stay* as the property manager will not try to get ahold of you about your stay and how to check in. You will be left on your own to figure this out. Messaging them on VRBO won’t work and there isn’t a phone number listed to call in emergencies - the only way to get that is by receiving the check in guidebook. And you won’t receive that (due to VRBO issues, plus email and phone calls don’t work for this property manager).
Best of luck to anyone who books this place - it really is a beautiful home and location. I hope you figure out how to check in without the property managers help, otherwise you’ll only be left with a slew of excuses as to why you couldn’t check in to your rental unit; and no attempt to contact you outside of the VRBO app when they know they’re having issues on their end. Learn from us - the property manager said this happened to many renters of theirs, so rather than risk it - find a place with a different property manager who will make sure your safe and that you can check in to your VRBO rental!
