The location is fantastic! However, the hotel is in much need of renovations. Dont be fooled by the photographs listed online. Very run down, noisy. The hot tub was empty with particle board covering it. Room was clean.

It was very quiet. Excellent ocean view. The bed was not really comfortable and the pillows were small and could use a couple of more. We were very disappointed that the restaurant/lounge are closed down as one reason we chose the property was the convenience for dinner and then breakfast next morning. This needs to be stated on the website.

There was no phone in the room, called Clarion Inn Surfrider Resort number several times and it was never answered, nor was there a way to leave message, so walked in the rain to the main office (my mission was to ask for an extra blanket), and there was no one there, nor a bell to ring for service. I waited for someone to show up for 10 minutes, and walked outside because on the way in, I had noticed a man sitting on some steps on his phone at an adjacent building) so I walked out and asked him if he knew if anyone was tending the front desk inside the check-in office, and it turned out that he was 'on duty', so I got my blanket finally. We didn't sleep because the occupants next door had their TV blaring until almost 1:00 in the morning. Other things were annoying. I had to stand on a chair to draw the curtains open or shut, because the clips on the drapery rod that attached to it were stuck and using the wand didn't work. I would've liked to use the jetted tub but didn't because it appeared dingy and dirty; in fact, the bathroom room itself was dingy looking, and dark; yhe toilet flapper was worn out and didn't work properly. I hated to use the bathroom. We had booked our stay for 2 nights but left after the first night... :( We will NOT be coming back to Clarion Inn Surfrider Resort.

I booed the property for the amazing ocean views. I was "upgraded" to a different room that had dirty sheets and nothing in the living room had been wiped down. There was dandruff on the bed frame, hairs in between sheets and mattess pad, a slimy sludge on the nightstand, the ceiling fan had a thick layer of dust on the blades, and the phone receiver was dirty. As well, the tv remotes did not have enough batteries in them.

Views are nice. Requested upper floor, never got. Restaurant stopped serving breakfast. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Rooms below top, very noisy. Checked out 2 days early, waiting for refund. Went elsewhere.

Obviously the Surfrider has seen better days, and totally understandable why they are demolishing and building a new hotel on the site. We stayed on 2 separate occasions while going to and from our final destination. The first stay was ok, except the noise from the upper floor was terrible. The second stay was horrible. Hotel was short staffed, restaurant was only taking orders to go, and the noise from the upper floor again terrible but what really got me was when rhe smoke alarm kept going off and the front desk said “we’re short staffed, I’ll try and get the technician over to take care of it”. After over and hour the alarm finally stopped so we cancelled the technician that might be coming over!

The property itself is a gold mine, in which another big company will buy and hike up the prices for the wonderful working class!! So the beach is beautiful and one of the workers at the front desk was polite and helpful, I also went to the front desk for more coffee creamer and I was told no I have none and that was the end of the conversation:(

The room was filthy, the staff up front particularly the woman who checked us in was rude and very unpleasant. She was not accommodating and addressed our arrival poorly. Didn’t seem to care to be helpful or even nice to us. Hopefully things get better when the new rebuild happens and you can get better staff in place.

Room was dirty & property generally unkempt. We learned it's due to close in Oct., and be torn down. Obviously, little is being done to maintain it now. Pictures of rooms on website must be 15 years old, very misleading. Furniture beat up, and both of us had backaches from the horrible old bed. Staff was friendly and wanted to be helpful, not really their fault.
