Last Minute Booking

We booked this house as a last minute decision when our original house got canceled due to a hurricane. We did not pay summer prices so I feel that we got a good “deal” but if I had I would be pretty upset. There were stains on almost every chair and a few cockroaches inside and out. The house is very large with many bedrooms, a few steps from your private beach and close to restaurants, grocery, and shopping. The first floor is set up odd with the bunk room close to two exits (and almost all other bedrooms on 3rd and 4th floor) so it was not an option for our 5 year olds to be in together. Also, no baby monitors out of 6 would reach between floors or outside to pool. The 2nd floor was actually great with no bedrooms so you didn’t have to worry about waking others early. The kitchen left a lot to be desired. We had to go buy our own pair of scissors, salt/pepper, and paper and plastic bowls as there were only glass. The living room furniture was not comfortable. The 3rd and 4th floor rooms were great. As soon as we arrived we had to move ALL outdoor furniture as it was flipped upside down against the house and had not been moved back for us. They were VERY heavy. We had asked for the pool to be heated on Saturday. Noticed on Monday there had been no change and contacted management who had someone out immediately and it was determined the heater was broken and we got a full refund. Management responded quickly to any concerns.

Big House on the Beach

Our family of 16 stayed comfortably at this house (7000 sq ft), a perfect location on the beach. Group ranged from 1 year old to 15 year old (6 kids) and 5 couples with the oldest celebrating a 70th birthday. The house was very expensive even though I reserved it almost a year in advance with no option for a refund, only credit. As a result, I had very high expectations. There were minimal supplies so we had to bring all our condiments, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, detergent, etc. The A/C could not be turned down below 72 due to freeze up risk. The place was not as clean as I had hoped. There were several roach sightings & brown splatters on the ceiling in the kitchen & den. Toilet on first floor ran constantly unless the handle was shaken. Pantry door was sticky due to so much previous use & needed a paint job. There were 16 bracelets on the counter but no explanation about what they were for. We later learned that they were to be worn on the beach to use the 4 complementary chairs & 2 umbrellas. The elevator was nice to have for the older adults since the house is 4 story. The pool was square & unremarkable, minimal shade around the pool, & the landscaping was overgrown. With all that said, the location was awesome with easy access to the beach as well as downtown and local ice cream shops. We cooked most of the meals at the house with plenty of plates, pans, glasses, etc. Summary: Great location, Very Expensive & needs a deep clean & maintenance.

We had 15 adults and 8 kids for Christmas and the home didn’t feel crowded, it gave us all enough space to have our own areas. We loved being on the beach and the location!

Beautiful House

My family, along with friends stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect from start to finish! The location is perfect, 4 mins away from a grocery store and close to many main attractions. We are huge AC people, and had no problem staying cold during our stay. The beach area is awesome and right outside the back door. The complimentary beach chairs/umbrellas are a great bonus. We spent many hours in the pool and backyard. The only recommendations I can provide, would be to add more kitchen items to cook/prep with. Along with adding another umbrella outside by the pool area to cover the nice long table. If we return back to Destin, we will be staying here again!

Amazing Home On The Beach

Having the beach just steps away from your home was the best part, but having such an amazing home came in a close second. The home was extremely clean. The rooms were all a great size and having so many of them was perfect for us. The house is setup were the second floor is only used as a living space (kitchen, family room, dinning room, etc.). Having this type of setup was perfect. It allowed those that wanted to go to bed early or sleep late the chance to do that without hindering the rest of the group. If there was anything to say that we would have changed it would have been to have more cooking utensils and beach towels, but as you can read from above it did not hinder our stay. Overall things were great. We feel blessed to have had the chance to stay here.

Great location and enjoyed the pool and beach. But to many "bedrooms" downstairs on first floor

The downstairs bedrooms have no windows or second exit. Not sure what the code in Florida is, but these can not pass inspection as bedrooms in most states. Practically speaking they are dark and bedding for 16 people is serviced by two small bathrooms. We only had nine on the first floor and it was insufficient. Further, the refrigerator leaked water in the main compartment and after two repair visits it was not repaired. They did disable the ice maker so no ice for a beach vacation meant ice chests in the kitchen. Not the look or feel we had in mind for a rental of this price.
