Received a phone call 2 hours before our arrival from Michigan that the hotel “gave our room away”. Asked how that could happen with a reservation in place and Alex at the front desk couldn’t answer that question. Asked for a callback from a manager and 4 days later, that call has never came. We had to scramble to find another hotel on a busy Spring Break week. After driving by the property during our stay in Destin, it appears we dodged a bullet because the property is run down and clearly mismanaged overall. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Terrible experience. They cancelled on us when we reached there. Our day and plans got all ruined. The staff was rude and didn't even call us beforehand for the cancellation. His excuse was there was no housekeeping. We had plans for cruises that we had to cancel as well. Just because of that cancellation we had to search for another hotel 45 mins apart. We missed our other bookings because of this. Do not trust on their booking.

The rooms were so unsanitary that we couldn't stay there. The rooms obviously hadn't been cleaned any time recently. We had a non smoking room that reeked of marijuana. There were insect/rodent droppings in the kitchenette area, stains and smears of who knows what all over the room, yellow pillows, etc. The property refused to refund us, and we were forced to book elsewhere, due to health concerns if we stayed there. The only pros were that the guy at the desk was nice and the pool looked alright. The front desk's hands were just tied in being able to refund us due to policy. We will be taking the refund issue to Expedia and if they won't assist, then to other consumer agencies. Do not book here if you care about your health.

This place was terrible! I really don’t understand how people are rating this motel anything other than terrible. We pull up into the parking lot and the first thing we notice is people sitting outside their rooms drinking and pouring alcohol in the mouth of a man already so drunk he could barely sit in his chair. The room was nasty. Smelled like cigarettes and pot in the room even though we requested a non smoking room. The ice bucket had been used for an ash tray, the shower had hair all in it, and the floor was so filthy my grandsons feet were black after walking on it barefoot shortly after taking a shower! Do yourself a favor and do not pay any attention to the rating of 7.2 stars because it is definitely not good!!!

If i could give negative stars, i would. 1st: Our room wasnt ready, but the staff claimed to be unaware of this. They accepted payment and gave us the key but the room was TRASHED. Beds were tossed, blood on the sheets, trash throughout the room, bathroom horrendous. 2nd: The refund process has been abysmal. We were there an hour, if that and was given a partial refund even though the facility was less than subpar. The young lady we dealt with on the midnight shift was helpful and apologetic for the experience so there was that. She informed us that the only way to get the full refund was through the manager who would be on the morning shift, so we contacted Expedia who also spoke with the facility and was told they would give the Full refund only for them not to. Needless to say, i would NEVER come back to this facility. We drove 4 hours to get there only for my family and i to have the worst experience for any hotel stay in our personal experience.

Thank god they gave us a refund. I trusted the 7.8 stars on Expedia and I will never again. GHETTO, DISGUSTING AND UNSTAYABLE. Room was so gross that we left and paid double somewhere else. We arrived at like 9pm and figured we would save a couple bucks since the pictures look nice, it was late and the reviews were high. NEVER AGAIN. We packed up and left the bedding and bathroom were so gross with stains, pubic hairs and other just other gross *** things.. best of luck with your stay. Even caring I felt on edge and figured I had a 70% chance of my car being broke into.

The pets were welcome, which was why we chose this hotel. The rooms were never cleaned or entered during our three night stay. We did not receive clean towels or anything. The hotel itself is very old and the bathrooms are poor in cleanliness and size. The drains are very slow leaving constant residue in the sink and shower. The Motel 6 as a whole had many types of people staying there - some long term renters, many with pets, and very few families, like ours. We felt very out of place, and almost unsafe due to the area.

Room was filthy. Blood stains on sheets. Multiple cockroaches. Floor felt like it hasn’t ever been mopped. Couldn’t be barefoot or you ended up with black feet from the filth. Had to purchase disinfectant wipes to wipe down surfaces. Very apparent that it wasn’t cleaned prior to stay. Bathtub was HORRIBLE. Had to purchase a bath mat to even step in the shower. Shower curtain was moldy. Had to go to the office every day because the keys consistently wouldn’t work and they would have to reprogram it. Was also put on the 2nd floor when I booked an ADA room and they do not have an elevator. They are remodeling the property so it seems like I was unlucky and was booked into one that still needs lots of work. Staff was friendly and location is safe and convenient.
