Sterling Sands 209 is a Gulf Front condo located right in the heart of Destin! This 2BR/2BA condo sleeps 6 guests and has unbeatable, wall to wall Beach Views in the living room and master bedroom! There’s a fully equipped kitchen, mini bar, dining table for 6, and barstools for extra seating at the breakfast bar. The master suite has a king bed, wall-mounted flat screen TV, balcony access, and a private bath with a jetted tub and walk-in shower. There’s also a guest room with a queen bed and twin bunk bed and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. When you’re not catching sun on the beach, splash around in the community pool or explore all the amazing amenities at Sterling Sands! Have a vacation to remember at Sterling Sands 209!

Snowbird Season runs November thru February. For a quote, select an arrival date (must be the 1st day of the month) and a departure date (must be the 1st day of a subsequent month). Contact us for alternate date requests and further assistance! All monthly rentals are subject to an additional $150 cleaning fee.

*Guests should complete the online check in 3 days prior to arrival to avoid delays upon check in. Guests are charged $10+Tax for guests 5 years and older. Guests will be charged for any lost wristbands. 2 Parking Passes Max. Smoking is prohibited on the property, including the beach. There is one designated area to smoke, it’s located at the bus stop as you enter the property from Hwy 98.*

With all the amenities you're craving nestled in a tropical setting, you'll never want to leave Sterling Sands! Grill up your catch of the day in the covered barbecue/picnic area or work out in the beachside fitness room. It's right across the street from The Track Family Fun Park, with mini-golf and go-kart racing, and within minutes from numerous shopping and dining options, including walking distance to the Back Porch.

We were not advised of the additional cost for wristbands and parking until a week if that till our vacation was to start.Which I feel was ridiculous. Also, it appeared that there were chairs and umbrellas available with the condo, but we were not given that perk, as we have in every other condo we have stayed in over the last 3-4 years. The fee for the chairs and umbrellas were like $80.00 a day which would of cost us $240.00 additional and the fact that you can’t use your own umbrellas is insane.

Have stayed at Sterling Sands in Destin, FL many times before, but not this particular unit. Very nice - no complaints. Realjoy was very attentive to any questions we had.

When we arrive there, we met the lady at the desk. She was not very kind at all, very dismissive of us. When we got up to the condo, there was a dirty bar of soap in the bathroom toward the front. The shower was not even strong enough to get the soap out of our hair. Also, the back of the doors in that bathroom needs painted badly. Drywall, coming apart around the washer and dryer. Washer is rusted out. Would not let us take our sandwiches and snacks to the pool so we did not sit there. We felt the place was very depressing

The property was perfect for our family!
The location was perfect and we loved the beach access and pool area. Loved that the pool area was heated as it was a bit chilly when we were there. It was clean and had TONS of kitchen supplies which I loved as someone who cooks! Also we loved having 2 chairs on the beach already included in our stay! The only thing I could probably is say is that the tv in the main room was going out. So the screen was very blue. We did report it and they sent someone right away but unfortunately couldn’t be replaced immediately. Due to our stay being early in the season the year chair fee had not been taken care of yet and we had to wait a day. They were quick to fix it though! Overall it was a great stay!!

The property is older and while they are currently renovating, the unit is overpriced for the condition and season. I was charged $10 per person for wristbands for areas of the property that we couldn't access. The gym and pool was closed. There was no security or beach service so I'm not sure was the exact fee was for.

The property security are all really rude our kids couldn’t even play with a small ball at the pool area but then at night teenagers would be jumping over the fence when the pool was closed. We were also given 1 roll of paper towels and two things of toilet paper when we went to the front desk to get more they wouldn’t until we contacted who we booked through I tried calling and no one ever answered so we bought our own. Our AC also went out twice while we were there. So after paying over 3,000 dollars I won’t be staying there again.

Roaches!
We have been staying in this area since 1987 and this is our first bad review. Our unit had roaches! I can't imagine anything worse than this. Real Joy was responsive and sent someone to spray. This helped but we started seeing roaches again toward the end of our trip. Upon leaving, we were extremely worried about packing and unpacking and very fearful they would travel home with us. It took us hours to unpack as we had to shake everything out while outside before bringing anything in to our home. Overall, it was very sad to see that Sterling Sands is not as clean as it used to be. We noticed a dirty napkin by the hose on the beach walk on our first day. It was still there on our last day. This tells you a lot. For the first time ever, I cannot recommend Sterling Sands. Also, I thought I was booking on VRBO and was very surprised to receive an email that we had booked through Real Joy. This should have been very clear from the beginning and was not. Real Joy's cancellation policy is different than VRBO so beware of this.

Perfect location and nice, spacious condo
The location is perfect. Easy access to the beach and since It’s downtown destin, there are so many fun things to do right by you. We enjoyed going to the harbor boardwalk with all kinds of restaurants and such. The condo is spacious and clean. There were a few things to note that may help your stay. Bring extra paper towels, trash bags, salt/pepper, condiments, etc. I am used to condos having basic salt and pepper so we didn’t get any from the store. Would have been nice to have. I do wish the condo had nicer pans (they’re pretty old) but they did the job. The hot water isn’t that great. There is a big giant tub in the master bedroom (it has jets and everything), but it only filled half way before getting cold. They really need to fix the hot water issue because I saw other reviews bringing up the same thing. All in all, it was a great condo and I really enjoyed it. The big balcony and view were the best!

A very nice place to stay!!
The condo was nice and spacious. We arrived just after the HOA office closed on Saturday. Our wrist bands were left for us in the condo but no access code to get into the pool or other amenities. I called the customer service number and spoke to a very nice lady that informed me they didn’t have the code either. Since Sunday was July 4th the HOA office didn’t open until 2pm. ☹️ The condo itself was lovely. I enjoyed the large balcony with the beautiful view. Being on the second floor we could easily take the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator. I loved that even though it was a holiday week the pool and beach didn’t seem to be overly crowded, like other places we have stayed. My only recommendation would be that the mattress in the master bedroom could be replaced. We had a wonderful, relaxing week. I would definitely recommend and would love to stay again the next time we vacation in Destin.

Overall great with a few shortcomings
We had some minor issues and had trouble getting in contact with the correct person to help. That put a bit of a damper on things but once they came in person, Real Joy corrected all of the problems immediately that they could. The staff at Real Joy were friendly and seemed hardworking. The unit had a humidity problem which was obvious in the carpeted rooms. The floors were constantly damp and once they had a contractor come out, he agreed. There was also a leak in the toilet which they sent out a plumber promptly! The Kuerig in the photos wasn’t there when we arrived and didn’t get replaced until the day before we left. I attributed the slow response to the fact that it was Memorial Day week. It wasn’t a huge deal but more of an inconvenience at best. All of that to say, there were certainly issues but overall it was a fun vacation.
