Prairie Rose Inn

"I would totally call this a "Boutique" Hotel. The rooms were very unique and comfortable. No detail was forgotten when they put together the themed rooms. The beds were comfortable and they used high-quality linens. Rosie's Restaurant was just a few steps down the hall. The food and service were both excellent. Be sure you try the homemade pie! We were travelling thru Kansas and were so fortunate to find the Prairie Rose. We were towing our new boat and Neva let us park in one of the campsites behind the Inn to ensure that it was safe. Everyone from wait staff to housekeeping were so welcoming and kind. We will definitely be returning to Wakeeney and the Prairie Rose!"

"This is an amazing space to get together with family or friends. I loved the decor. The kitchen was fully functional. The seating was comfortable. There are so many different areas to sit. Some of our group played cards, others watched TV and others just had a chance to visit and catch up. The small room at the entrance was great for our new mom to take her baby to feed her and then rock her to sleep. Our family will definitely keep this property in mind when we come back to the family land for other family events. We also enjoyed the Prairie Rose cafe."

"I've stayed here a couple times and the people that run it area always really nice, the rooms are clean and I've never had an issue. Safe a quiet. A minute off the highway but worth it."

"This place was decorated in a country style and so very adorable! Our room was plenty big for 3 adults. The beds were old fashioned looking queen metal beds & so comfortable!!! The bathroom floor & shower tile looked like wood planks. The shower had very good pressure. The hot breakfast was delicious with several choices. The outdoor patio is very large with some built in seating & would be fun for games or fire pit. Had clean large pool"

"This is a good spot for an overnight stay. It is a very basic hotel , if you have the correct expectations, it's just fine. The bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Front desk staff were both pleasant. Breakfast was better than most hotels with biscuit/gravy, eggs, sausage , hash browns, waffle maker and typical supply of cereal, pastries, yogurt. The hotel is a bit 'worn' (carpets, wall covering , etc) but seemed clean. There are not many places to eat dinner so keep that in mind when stopping in Oakley. Only frustration (which the hotel cannot control) was awful smell outdoors - it was like a CAFO or field had been spread with fertilizer. Fortunately, the smell did not permeate inside the hotel."
