“Best day of a nine day trip had a different hotel room every night and this by far was the best and most comfortable. Would have loved to stay here several more days. Comfortable rooms and property was bigger than we needed, but was the only one left that was dog friendly. ”

“This must be the nicest place in the city. Nice and modern everything is clean comfortable bed television works. There’s a dishwasher. Excellent quality cooking utensils. Nice refrigerator. I’ve stayed at some other places in this town. This is much much better. Jessica is a great host.”

“Sawinglogzz is an awesome place! The owners are amazingly kind and thoughtful. The accommodations fit our needs completely and the space is more than enough. We only stayed one night, so hopefully we can go back in the future! ”

“Although there is no indoor bathroom, the outhouse was more than adequate for folks who camp. The bed was comfortable, the host had the cabin warmed up and greeted us in a friendly manner and was happy to show us around their Alaska homestead. I would definitely recommend this spot as long as you don't mind some road noise”

“We were warmly greeted by our host on arrival and instantly felt at home walking through the door. The rooms were clean, spacious and well furnished. Everything about it was lovely: the bed was incredibly comfortable, the breakfast and home made cake were a lovely touch and the view was to die for. We stayed three nights and if we didn’t already have plans, I would have stayed longer. Valdez is a pretty, quiet and relaxed place to spend time. I highly recommend Valdez and this property. ”

“We love spending labor day at this camp! The views are amazing. The property is great to use for adults and kids. There is so much exploring to do all around. ”

“Michael and Victoria love what they do, and it shows. The cabin was clean and comfortable, fishing was productive and fun (and the dog showed us where the fish were!) and the gourmet meals were incredible! If we are back in the area, we'll be back for sure!”

“It had everything we needed. Neighborhood is about 6 miles to town. ”

“We’re a family of 6 with 4 teenage boys winding our way through AK for the first time. Valdez is our midway point and the historic house was perfect. It is quirky and quaint which adds appeal. We loved that we had a kitchen and space to spread out. The washer and dryer were put to great use and being able to walk everywhere was perfect! We rented bikes from the Fat Mermaid and tried out ice cream from a couple of the stands. Walking to Safeway was helpful in making meals and we just enjoyed……
