We enjoyed our stay. The staff were all lovely. The hotel is tired and could do with a refurb. However it was clean and the food, both at breakfast and in the restaurant, was of a high standard. It was also well situated for travelling around both by public transport and by car. We would definitely go back

Good value for money. Very busy over the last couple of days so it took over forty minutes to get our order taken for breakfast on Thursday - which came without the veggie sausage as stated on the menu. I would probably skip the breakfast in future.

Room was well equipped and adequate for our needs. Staff promptly brought more pillows when requested. Only fault we had with the rooms (3 booked) was that they smelt 'fusty' when we entered. A trivial observation, just felt that they could have been aired more before our arrival.

Room serviced every day to a good standard. Evening meals where good and the roast dinner was great value and very nice .Breakfast not included if not booked direct so was a bit of a surprise and £12.50 extra seems a bit steep when a short drive up the road is cafe 22 where a full English is only £5.50

Our room had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable & shower hot & powerfull. We ate on two nights - the food was very good & service quick. The only thing we didn't like was the peas which we both left. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice. We had eggs florentine & the full cooked breakfast. The breakfast manager was very friendly & very good at his job. We wouldn't hesitate to book again & will hopefully return someday soon. Extremely handy having the bus stop right outside the door. (We travelled by train for a funeral so had to rely on busses mostly).
