"This is an older hotel with history that has been sympathetically updated retaining a real sense of luxury. Lovely places both inside and out to enjoy the amazing views Staff couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful Tea and coffee in lounge a nice bonus Very good breakfast"

"Our family of two adults and three teenagers loved our stay in Saebø. We spent most of our time on daily hikes and day trips-- the hiking is challenging and highly worthwhile.The town has two small groceries open every day and a couple of shops open only on the weekends. The bakery is open daily and highly worth a visit. Rekkedal farm up the road is open for dinners two or three nights a week. A car is a necessity-- the ferry is about a mile down the road.The home is absolutely stunning-- well appointed and with huge views. All four bedrooms are downstairs, with the common areas upstairs. We have four days of great memories at this home."

"The view of the valley is stunning. The rooms are utilitarian and very clean. The breakfast is truly excellent and by comparison, the dinner was terrible and expensive. We rented the sauna and it was wonderful! There are 2 roads that lead to the Videseter and on arrival, Google Maps took us through a one lane, mountain road that was closed at the top! Would have been nice if the hotel had mentioned not to take the closed road. A quick message after we booked would have prevented a lot of stress. No EV chargers on site, but they plan to fix that soon."

"The cabins are well kept, clean and tidy with care. Highly recommend upgrading your reservation to the larger cabins with bathroom and service kitchen complete with oven, cook top stove and healthy size refrigerator. The extra cost is worth every kroner. Thanks to the camp host, he was as welcoming as could be. Will happily stay here again! "

"Simply put, Union Øye is the finest hotel myself and my fiancé have ever stayed at. The mountains, fjords, and broader landscape surrounding the hotel is singular in its majesty and beauty, and provides unequalled opportunities for exploration and adventure. For us, this included kayaking along Norangsfjorden and Hjørundfjorden, cold plunging in the fjord followed by a session in the glass-walled sauna on the dock overlooking the fjord, running / hiking in the mountains, and more. The hotel building was authentically historic and stunningly beautiful, with its historicity wonderfully captured in the decor, paintings and pictures, individually designed rooms, and the 10pm storytelling each night by a member of the staff telling the story of the hotel since its founding in 1891. The food was exquisite and over the course of four days we truly looked forward to each meal. In the interim between meals, we would talk often about how good the last one was. Above all else, the staff are utterly exceptional. We have never experienced better. Each member of staff was unbelievably warm, kind, friendly and helpful. It truly felt like you were being welcomed as a guest into a family's home, rather than just a hotel. The level of effort each member of the staff put in to proactively making our stay as exceptional and as special an experience as possible was truly something to behold. It was a true joy to spend time arou them. We were engaged here and plan to come back many times."
