The subdivision that this particular cabin was in was VERY nice. There are a lot of amenities inside this subdivision that are free of cost, a tremendous amount of deer to see during the day (including buck), and it was a gated community.
The kitchen was a great size, it had an island and had the necessary pots, pans, utensils, glasses and stoneware etc. and the kitchen table sat 6 people easily, a Keurig would be a nice addition instead of the drip coffee maker. Bathrooms were spacious and both bedrooms were great
Now for the cons, the living room only sat 5 and the cabin slept 6. We had six people at the cabin, and this was an issue when we sat down and wanted to watch a movie at night. The loft was very cute and had a great view, BUT the twin beds in the loft were very uncomfortable. I had a 4'11 and a 5'11 teenagers sleeping in them and they both could not get much sleep due to discomfort, the taller teenagers feet were off the bed due to the size. One of the teenagers felt like they were bit during the night in the bed by bugs.
Otherwise the parking was plentiful, the view was of the very top of a mountain, and was pretty, it's a dog friendly cabin and the upper deck off the bedroom was adorable!!! They had a nice fire pit, and the hot tub was clean and working condition, we enjoyed it .. mountain Oasis cabin rentals was amazing to deal with. I would definitely rent a cabin through them again.
Overall, it was ok. It needs some updates, and overall refreshing. Should not be in the same category as "upper end cabin rentals" compared to other cabins we have stayed in, within that resort community.
My family and I spent a bulk of the time around the fire pit and swinging on the lovely swinging bench on the front. The only issue we came across was that we were unable to get the hot tub to work, that may have simply been a user error but there were no instructions on-site. I would highly recommend this place to friends, but if I could make any changes maybe check to make sure the hot tub is functional/ maybe leave instructions for future guests.
Pro’s:
1. Deck was very relaxing. The grill was nice to have access to and the porch/baby swing was great.
2. The setup was great for little kids. Master bedroom had a toddler bed which was super convenient.
3. If you travel with animals and don’t mind dog hair this is the place for you.
4. The resort was nice. Indoor pool/club house very clean and front desk lady was very friendly.
Cons:
1. Communication with the owner was poor. I had to reach out to the actual resort and they were super helpful and professional.
2. Pool/Amenities is 15 min drive from the cabin. We were unaware of this until after we paid in full to find out of their were any restrictions due to covid. That’s when we were informed by the owners it was a 20 min drive. (I think the owners have updated this since) The indoor pool was still cold so we cut the pool trip shorter than expected but was still fun. Would be better in the warmer months.
3. If you have dog allergies DO NOT stay here. Dog hair was EVERYWHERE. Couches, kitchen table, sheets. There was also dirt, crumbs, filth around/on the couches and in the beds. I have a baby who just started walking therefore he still crawls sometimes within 20 min of checking in he was filthy. The cabin was not clean to my standards. We swept and cleaned the sheets upon arrival. I contacted the resort to inform them and sent pictures because the owners still had not responded prior. The resort immediately called apologized and asked to send cleaners back out to the house but with three young children and after the drive we chose to clean ourselves.
4. Air hockey table turned on but the air didn’t blow out enough to make the pucks float nor did the score keeper work -Needs replaced. The tv on main bedroom remote did not work. Couch in living room could benefit from updating.
5. To access the hot tub- you have to walk outside, over rocks (wear shoes) and down the stairs. There is inside access and a door leads directly to the hot tub from the basement but it is locked by the owners. If you go during the winter I recommend bringing a robe.
6. Check out is 11:00AM by 10:30 AM the cleaners pulled up and sat in the driveway smoking making us feel very rushed. As finished loading up the car.
7. I would stay at the resort again but not this cabin. I feel almost $400 a night I expect better.
We had a great time and the property was clean and just as described. As explained in the details, it is a 15 minute or so drive just to get out of the resort, but worth the drive for the scenery and privacy the property offers.
Amazing views great communication... deer everywhere.. seen snow fall for the first time ever.. happy with overall stay it was gorgeous love the property and town
I stayed at Sarah's Mountain Hideaway with my friends for a post-graduation vacation. It was beautiful and very relaxing. Elijay has great hiking locations all around so we never drove too far out. The cabin was really cozy and fit everyone comfortably. The cabin is also dog-friendly which was super helpful. Highly recommend!

Not Dog Friendly!
While this property is listed as Dog Friendly, we found upon arrival that this wasn't really the case. Signs within the home told us that pets are not allowed on couches or beds. Since we have always encouraged our dog to join us on the couch, we ended up having to constantly reprimand her which does not make for a relaxing vacation. We also become concerned that Additionally, we noticed many dead grasshoppers and moths on the deck each morning. We expected bugs in the woods and had no problem with this until we realized that the bugs that were still alive were obviously hindered in some way leading me to believe that there was some sort of poison or insecticide they were getting into.
This cabin was wonderful! I would recommend waking up early to sit out on the deck and enjoy the sunrise and the wildlife. The cabin was nice, cozy and clean. We really liked that there was an additional room off the loft area upstairs. Our three kids loved that they could have the entire upstairs to themselves. The extra amenities were a great option too. Both pools were kept clean and the staff at both pools were so nice and friendly. We spent most of our time hiking the trails in the area so it was wonderful using the pools at the end of the day. The only issue I have about this resort would be the front gate entry. There was typically congestion at the gate due to confusion with check in codes. We would sometimes sit in line for 10 minutes waiting to get onto the property. Otherwise, this was a great little mountain getaway
We had an amazing time at Sarah’s place. It was beautiful and so well laid out. It was great being able to take our puppies with us too! They had a great time. And the kids loved the air hockey table. We definitely will be back!
The property was very nice and very accommodating to everyone from kids to dogs. I don’t want to be harsh because I enjoyed my experience from the hot tub to roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. There are some things that need to be noted. Mainly housekeeping issues so if I could have an email for contact I will address those issues there. Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful setting. I would recommend it. The mattress in the king bed is awesome! I do think it’s about time to replace the living room couch and loveseat (not very comfortable).
We really loved our stay here. It was great for us and the kids. The neighborhood is a scenic experience in itself-stunning! The deer are everywhere and come right up to the house. The only thing that we would have loved is if the hot tub had access from inside of the house. It was kind of a pain to have to walk all the way outside on the rocks and down the stairs for access. We would have liked to have used it more. Otherwise, the trip was great!
Sarah's Mountain Hideaway was perfect! It was exactly as described except for two things--it's even cleaner and more well-appointed! It's also beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, comfortable and airy. Everything you might need is there and very easy to find. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent in the gorgeous cabin (and on the decks and in the hot tub)! Thank you so much! We will be back.
My wife and I were looking for a place to disconnect as the past few weeks have brought on additional mental and physical stresses that were weighing us down a bit. My wife's birthday and our anniversary were a few days apart and we were desperately looking for a place to unwind, disconnect, put our phones down, enjoy each other and some of God's most beautiful country. Your cabin gave us the serenity we were looking for. Although we had extreme inclement weather which didn't allow us to take part in any of the local festivities which was a shame, but we will be back to get another slice of God's blessings. Thank you very much for opening your home to us.

What a wonderful, quiet place to bring the kids and have private time as a couple
What was not to love about this gorgeous cabin? All 4 of us had a wonderful, peaceful, and relaxing mini vacation. The weather was cold, but that didn't stop us from making s'mores outside with our kids.
