"We stayed at the hotel for 4 days with 2 kids. The hotel was spacious and very relaxing. The pools and waterslides were the main attraction! It was a short ride to downtown Carlsbad or Encinitas which offer great dining options. The beaches were also a short ride from the hotel which made for a fun visit! I would say the service was good but not great. The resort was packed on Saturday and the pool area was very busy and they didn’t fully open the restaurant or waterslides until 11am. We...

"Our host Matt went above and beyond to assist us with any issues that came up. He was a truly extraordinary host, gracious, welcoming, and eager to make our stay at his lovely home as comfortable as possible. The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable, and the kitchen is equipped with every item you might wish to have (including multiple methods of coffee makers). Our extended family felt very relaxed and grateful to experience coastal living with breathtaking views. Thank you, Matt!"

"This is a great house and location for large groups. The hosts were responsive and made it easy to check in and resolve any questions. The main thing to note for people visiting in the hot summer months is that the central air conditioning cannot adequately keep the house and certain rooms cool. Some rooms have individual AC units, and they are great, and others are on the ocean side and get a lot of breeze. But a few rooms don’t have AC (besides the weak central unit) or ocean breeze and just got too hot. It would be a great help to furnish those few rooms with their own AC units to help during the summer months. I would definitely consider returning, as the location and hosting were excellent."
