Great stay

Beautiful property - we saw bald eagles and a flock of turkeys just across the river. Quiet, close enough drive to excellent hiking and sight-seeing, and great for a remote work week.

This was definitely one of our favorite vacation rentals. Absolutely beautiful! Very peaceful, yet close proximity to town and restaurants, bars, and a casino. We really enjoyed ourselves, and our dog had the time of her life. We highly recommend! We would definitely come back, but we don't vacation in the same area twice. Thanks for providing a true description of your property and amenities. What you see in the photos is what you get...or actually, even better than the photos.

Kayaking on the Ford River

The house was wonderful and had everything that you would needed to cook. We usually ate breakfast and dinner at the house. There are pots and pans, plates and even spices that are there for your use. The house was very comfortable and inviting. We brought our own kayaks, but if you don’t have any, there are 4 on the property to use. We grilled out a few times and we spent a lot of time on the deck watching the river and the deer that would be across the river. It was so peaceful and Steve and Audra were very nice. Excellent house

This was our third trip to the Riverland Lodge and as always it was a perfect place! This time we had our 75 year old parents with us and they could not say enough good things about the house and amenities.

Peaceful get away with all the modern conveniences

This property was exactly as listed. It was very clean. But this property had more than most VRBO properties I’ve stayed at. There were ample towels of all sizes in the bathroom, ample toilet paper (not just a couple starter rolls), and cabinets and drawers were labeled with their contents. They even provided a pooper scooper and waste bags for our doggos. It was a dog friendly property. There was tons of seating, whether in the dining room, kitchen, or outdoor by the grill and even down by the river. Access to four kayaks was also an added bonus to this property. Communication was great with the hosts, they answered any questions we had quickly. This is a great property and I’d highly recommend it to others.

Amazing spot for a relaxing, quiet, and serene retreat!

Heading home feeling like a brand new woman. From check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly. Pictures posted for this listing do not do the entire property justice! The home is amazing and beautifully decorated. My family and I all felt at home the days/nights spent here. We talked about hosting several more birthday's & celebrations at Riverland Lodge.

We came to Escanaba Mi. To meet our daughters future mother law and family The wedding is in August of this year and we Had a great visit. This property is the best home we have rented. They have thought of everything So convient and cozy

Peaceful and relaxing getaway.

The property and home are pristine. My city dogs were afraid of new sounds and smells, but once settled in loved going in the river and exploring the beautiful yard. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the deer, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, frogs, snakes and even a bear on nearby trail. Close to Escanaba if you want to eat out or buy burgers for the grill. was a great mini vacation for us!! 100% recommend to you.

Pleasant stay

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving break. Very calm and quiet place. Very clean and had all the supplies we needed in plenty. The RV tracks were livery to walk our dog and for some deer spotting. Also the occasional hunters. The only downside is the place does not have a dishwasher and so the utensils were a bit crusty as this entirely depends on the previous occupants. Would be great to have the housekeeping ensure the previous tenants did a good job. All in all we had a wonderful stay.

Great place, well equipped and lovely hosts.

Quick winter getaway with a little remote work with the family. Internet worked awesome even with both of us on zoom meetings at the same time. The house exceeded our expectations and really enjoyed ourselves. Spent each day exploring new trail systems hiking with the dogs to return for relaxing nights playing games that were provided. Steve checked in to ensure all was good and offered to come shovel even with only a couple inches of fresh snow. Very well equipped with all you will need to enjoy your stay. We will be back in the future!

Amazing stay in the U.P.

This property was the perfect piece of paradise for our getaway in the Upper Peninsula. Braving the U.P. in the dead of winter was a risk, but it was one well taken and one that was made all the better by Steve and Audra’s cabin! It was so nice to enjoy the wildlife (deer, eagles...) right outside the back door and have quick access to the Soo Line rail trail for snowshoeing. Plus, only being about 15 min from town allowed us to have all the comforts of home. Everything was clean, organized and super easy for check-in & Steve was quick to respond to any need we had. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We look forward to coming back to the U.P. in the warmer months.

Perfect cottage!

The cottage was in a beautiful area of Escanaba. However, the entire upper peninsula of Michigan is beautiful. Escanaba has everything you need for a vacation. The upper peninsula has many points of interest. We really enjoyed the Pictured Rocks cruise.

Great weekend on Ford River

We had an excellent stay at Riverland Lodge. The place is very clean, comfortable and well appointed. As soon as you walk in you feel at home. The river view and property are amazing. We visited many friends in the area and looked at a few houses for sale as we hope to return full time. Owners are very kind with great communication. Our dogs loved walks on the property and the River. We had fantastic weather as well. Thank you for sharing this peaceful gem.

Nice place right on the river!

We visited early spring and the place was very nice. Clean and comfortable and right on the river! It seems like a really great place to be, especially in warmer weather - we came the week of snow and ice so outdoor activities were limited but still enjoyed the getaway.
