There was a big wet stain in the middle of the quilt on the day of check in, which was disgusting.

I read the bad reviews before I checked in. As many people said, I was sent to another facility-about a half mile away (Fairbanks Extended Stay) The place was okay - old place with thin wall...at least, you have a roof to avoid snow with heater. I had to contact all of my tour companies to let them know the change of pick-up place. One company told me I have to be in Abbey Archway Inn. One morning with snow, I walked a half mile, about 10 mins. Wow, I could have free breakfast finally on that day! Breakfast was like first-come, first-serve. I took last pieces of bread and egg dish. One couple came after me - they had only waffles, cereals and yogurt with a cup of coffee or orange juice. If you miss free breakfast, you should't be feel sorry. Just arrange InstaCart to get groceries. You can cook better breakfast by yourself. Yeah, towels were washed but had old stains (they were clean, I guess but looked disgusting). I won't go back there again when I visit Fairbanks next time.

El personal fue amable. El lugar esta aproximadamente a 10 minutos del aeropuerto así que es un buen lugar en mi opinión. El lugar es un buen lugar para sopesar te siempre y cucando sea un viaje rápido. Es un lugar chico pero apropiado para unas vacaciones.

Overall it was good and I’d likely stay again. The folks at check in were very kind and gave me some great pointers for things to do and see in the area. Check in was smooth! I was in a building with no elevator and I was on the 3rd floor which was awkward with a suitcase. The room was large, but it had little usable space e.g: only a sliver of a countertop in the kitchen and only a small round table that was supposed to be the desk and the dining table. No real comfortable place to sit and relax other than the bed and the regular rolling dining chair that didn’t roll very well. The heater worked GREAT! The hot water and shower water pressure was AWESOME! I was never cold. I love that it had a full kitchen and full size fridge/freezer so I could make my own meals.

The kitchen wasn’t cleaned properly, the balcony light didn’t work, the side of the tub was off and all the wires were exposed and the hall lights only worked half the time. Overall I would not recommend this place not only based on that but the room I paid for was not what was advertised in the pictures.

Cozy, Alaskan charm…

I have stayed at the Abbey, several times over the last 5-7 years, all have been very satisfactory. I like the cozy Alaskana feel, and appreciate the thought that went into the initial construction and d3sign of the buildings. Very quiet, and conveniently located(I have always driven). The hospitality provided is excellent, friendly staff and owners top it off. This location is my go to in Fairbanks.

It is an ok place to stay but nothing to write home about. The room was clean although the towels seemed dated. I got a room in the basement which was not ideal. Overall - safe place for a solo traveller.

When I arrived, the private bathroom that was for my room was not actually in my room - I had to go out into the main hallway and down some stairs to get to it. When I went into the bathroom the first time, it hadn't been cleaned since the last person used it. (To their credit, the bathroom was cleaned as soon as I pointed that out.) Also, the hair dryer plug was coming apart and did not look safe to use. The TV didn’t always work, and the room did not have its own thermostat, so there was no way to turn down the heat. The bed was squeaky every time I moved, and I could feel the springs in it, so I couldn't sleep. I also had to haul my 45-lb suitcase up stairs to the third floor, which was rather difficult! But there was a fan to use, a fridge and a microwave in the room, which was handy, and breakfast was decent.

Very underwhelming

Be aware: there are several separate buildings associated with this hotel, located far apart. We were dropped off at reception and, after checking in, had to get a second taxi to get to our room for the night. Also, half the towels in our bathroom were HEAVILY stained.
