Enjoy watching the snowfall from the warmth of the hot tub, sled down the drive, snowshoe, or snuggle by the pellet stove. The lodge is perched at 11,300ft and is in an area lovingly nicknamed "Valley of the Snow". The cabin offers three bedrooms, two full baths and is fully equipped with all kitchen/cooking necessities, bath linens, fresh sheets and Starlink high-speed wi-fi. One queen and the bunk room share the upstairs bath. A thermostat controlled wood pellet stove offers a real flame fireplace. Downstairs there is a queen bedroom with a floor furnace, and a full bath across the hall. For the extra kiddos, there is a double size futon just outside the room. The downstairs media area offers four recliners and a smart TV which sits on a faux fireplace that heats up for those cozy movie nights. Stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. A gas fireplace (also thermostat controlled) also keeps the downstairs extra warm. There’s also a game table with a few provided games for fun family time. There is a door to the whole downstairs suite, so you can close off the entire downstairs for a more private space. The hot tub is tucked under the deck and in winter you can guarantee that it's surrounded in snow! Watch for satellites and find the Milky Way on a clear night! There is a trailhead at the end of our street, another around the corner. The one at the end of the street opens to 360 degree views and will lead you to the top of a 13ner! (That is a local term for a mountain that's above 13,000ft). There are TONS of fishing spots nearby, and in town there is even a place to ice fish. You can rent snowshoes in town and hike around the cabin since it sits on an acre, or any of the gorgeous nearby trails. If you get hungry there are several small restaurants in town and in Alma. Or head to Breck for a full array of choices. If relaxation is your goal and you want something different, the hot springs in Mt Princeton about 45 min away is a very cool experience. It's our goal for the cabin to be a place of happy memories and we hope your stay is as warm and cozy, or cool and adventurous, as possible! Sleeps 10 in beds, but if your party is larger than 6, we may not be able to accommodate, so please inquire directly. The area is serene, and the views in the area are spectacular. Pine, aspen and spruce trees fill the acre lot, provide privacy and offer wildlife a place to wander. As the name implies, this amazing cabin is located just near where the trees stop growing, at about 11,300 feet in elevation, so AWD is required in winter so that you have enough grip to easily get up the driveway.
