We were made very welcome on arrival by Norman, one of the owners who showed us around the cottage and made sure we knew how everything worked, heating, showers, dishwasher, etc. There was a lovely welcome pack that included milk, biscuits, cake and wine. The cottage was very well equipped, with plenty of crockery, glassware and cutlery. We’ve stayed in places that sleep four before and there has literally been four of everything, not so here, there’s more than enough. The kitchen had dish towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing machine soap. The beds were comfortable and the en-suite bathrooms had plenty of towels and a powerful shower. There was plenty of comfortable seating area in the living room. We noted a previous review mentioned two negatives, the main road and the condition of the showers. Firstly the road. The cottage is situated on quite a busy road but both bedrooms are at the back of the property and we didn’t find the road disturbed us. Secondly the showers. Whilst there was some degradation in the mastic around the shower tray showing some discolouration we didn’t feel it was dirty or unhygienic. Whilst there isn’t necessarily that much to do in the immediate vicinity of the cottage it was an excellent place to base ourselves whilst we explored Norfolk. Most of the places we visited were no more than a 30 minute drive away. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Moor’s Rest.
