Typical for the Algarve menu is fish and seafood. Portugal is a wine country and it is always worth trying the white, green or red wines.Estoi village (5 minutes by car from the villa) is an unspoilt, quaint little hilltop town, nestled in the foothills of the Serra do Caldeirão. Narrow, cobbled streets wind through this charming resort to the central town square, where you will find the impressive town church and everything you need; supermarket, bakery, pastry, butcher, hairdresser, banks, cafes where you can enjoy a coffee and a cake, etc. On the second Sunday of each month a market is held on the outskirts of Estoi, where a variety of clothing and handmade crafts as well as fruit and vegetables can be picked up. Estoi also boasts two architectural gems, one is the Palacio de Estoi, known as the Pink Palace, and the other is the Milreu Roman ruins, one of the first villas built in the Algarve by the Romans. The airport and beach are only 20 minutes by car and the city of Faro 15 minutes by car .About Vilamoura there is a beautiful beach with water skiing and other sports activities.

We recently spent a week at this villa with our family of six and had an absolutely wonderful stay. The villa is beautifully located in the mountains (a car is essential) and offers everything you could wish for a relaxing family holiday. The property is spacious, clean, and very well maintained, with four comfortable bedrooms and four bathrooms, providing plenty of privacy and convenience for everyone. The large living room was a great place to relax together, and the pool table was a huge hit—we used it every day! The heated swimming pool was fantastic. Outside, the large terrace with its beautiful dining table was perfect for long dinners, and the BBQ facilities made our evenings even more enjoyable. A special compliment goes to the owner, who was incredibly welcoming, service-oriented, and always easy to reach. Any questions were answered quickly, and we truly felt looked after throughout our stay. In short: a top-quality villa in a fantastic location. We would love to come back!

Overall an excellent villa and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However there were a few issues that made the first day a bit of a headache such as the front door key not working and having to track down the hidden fuse box in order to turn the AC on. Once we figured all that out everything went smoothly and it was a lovely place to be. The maintenance man lives on site but we never saw or heard him at all. We did have an issue with lots of ants getting into the upstairs bathroom. Some of the sun beds also felt felt quite brittle and could do with replacing. Besides these small issues everything else was great and would recommend. It is in a very peaceful location.

Great villa and as we expected, in the hills in a peaceful location.
