Nice place in cute little town

We went for our wedding anniversary and had a great time. The room is small but that is all we needed. Very clean. There is a couple of great restaurants right in town and the drive to Travis City was about 30 minutes. We will stay here again for sure.

Everything is great except for the shower. We were in a handicap room. The handicap shower bench did not stay up when propped, so we had a tiny area to shower. Also the shower pressure is low, but not that big of a deal. The big problem was that, we had a tiny space to stand in the shower because the shower bench had to stay down. We were forced to shower while sitting down. This is a beautiful room to stay at since right out your door is the lake. It was nice sitting by the lake drinking morning coffee.

Comfy & Clean

Old school inn recently updated with memory foam mattresses, toaster (would have brought my sour dough and butter mmmm) small fridge and microwave. House keeping does a great job keeping the goose poop picked up and the dog visitors were very polite and clean. In fact housekeeping helped us get our check in text. You can check in early for a fee through the ap. Unit we had was ground floor- which means you hear everything upstairs and get to enjoy whatever they are smoking. Lots of furniture outside to enjoy the lake. Party store next door has everything you forgot and more. Walked up the hill for Breakfast, homemade bread was great. Recommend bug fogger for the door and porch area-made it nicer. Easy drive up from Grand Rapids to the inn, to Higgins Lake for our reunion and over to Traverse City. for shopping and dinner..

The overall property was exactly as advertised. We appreciated being right next to the water and all the amenities that came with it to enjoy the space. The only complaints we had were the weak water pressure in the shower, that we were given the wrong code for the room (which was quickly rectified when we called the number given), and a warped step on the stairs that almost caused a fall. Other than these three complaints it was a lovely spot to enjoy a short vacation.
