perfect breakfast
Lovely attentive hosts - very clean and comfortable room - the star was the cooked breakfast, cooked perfectly, with best quality ingredients and a big pot of fresh tea and coffee - absolutely fantastic. Thanks Chris and Julie for a lovely experience - we will be back.

If you're a bit unsure about staying at a place for the first time you need have no worries about booking the Southgate B&B. Starting with the warm and friendly welcome from the hosts upon arrival everything was all you could wish for- from the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodation to the impressive breakfast in the morning.Would have no hesitation in booking again!

Super bed and breakfast. The proprietors were warm and friendly. It was spotlessly clean and the room well decorated and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and overall service. Would highly recommend it for a stay near the Yorkshire coast.

What a fantastic little gem we found.
Our hosts Chris and Julie were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.
Our room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable.
Breakfast was amazing and we will definitely be returning. Would highly recommend staying here. Its a great base for exploring the beautiful countryside and coastal areas . 10/10

If you are looking for an excellent B&B, the Southgate is the one. We had a warm welcome from Chris and Julie and they were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was outstanding and everywhere was pristine. Everything you needed in the room with a comfortable bed, on-suite walk in shower and hairdryer. The deco everywhere was very tasteful and inviting. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it. Would definitely stay again.

Best bed and breakfasts in the Filey area.
Both myself and my husband have stayed in many establishments on the East coast. The Southgate tops the lot.
Chris and Julie are fantastic hosts and remembered us from last time we came a few years ago. Everything was spottless, the room amazing and breakfast super yummy served to perfection. We will definitely be returning.
