Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you’re prepared. We’ve made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Bath vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a hassle-free flight experience is to plan ahead. So, let’s start with the basics: passport, official ID, credit cards and daily medications. Next, bring items that’ll help keep you occupied, like your laptop or a magazine. It’s also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don’t have a sharp object hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight often lies in your choice of clothes. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like high heels and sandals are best left in your checked suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will appreciate it.
- It’s likely you’ve heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There’s plenty you can do to lower your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
